The New York Knicks have signed forward Noah Vonleh, according to a report by Ian Begley.

Vonleh started his career with the Charlotte Hornets in 2014, and has played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls.

Last season, Vonleh played 21 games for the Bulls. He averaged 6.9 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game and 1 assist per game.

Not sure what to think about this other than BYE BYE BAker

Some speculation on twitter that this means a Lee trade is coming soon. Just speculation.

23 year old former 9th pick from good program!!!!
6-10, power forward.

Baker? perhaps. Dodson? Burke? Joakim?
Its July. A lot will happen between now and opening night.

Burke? The knicks need a point guard.

Wanted either Vonleh or Len after the initial FA period sorted out.

Turns 23 on 8/24.

7'4" wingspan...rebounds and hopefully can defend some ---- offense is a ? mark but thought that was his strength coming out of Indiana.

Much prefer this over adding some older washed up vet -- we have Lance and Kanter/Timmy to lead now --- hopefully Lee will be moved at some point.

Fiz don't need PG's.

Nice pickup. He has been a rotation big the last couple of years, with some upside still. He could round out to become a nice defensive rotation piece that can play the 4 and 5.

If you are going to put a point guard on your list I would put Mudiay. No way they waive Burke. He was their best player after KP went down.

young athletic big. I liked kid who was playing for the Heat. Bring em in and check em out
Ira @ 7/24/2018 4:28 PM
He's a good rebounder and defender.
SupremeCommander @ 7/24/2018 4:36 PM
hopefully this means Baker is out

I don't think they move lee unless they get another high character vet in that locker room. I just don't think you can have a locker room full of players under 25 an expect anything good to happen. It's really the key in any sport..

When i heard Trier said he turned to 19 yr old Frank to ask him about how to be a nba point guard, i just shook my head, the blind leading the blind

knicks1248 @ 7/24/2018 4:41 PM
is he a better option then beasely, or did fiz have something against beasely from his HEAT days?

He's a defensive big whereas Beasley struggles defensively. I think that was most important. KP, Knox, Kanter, Hardaway, and Burke can all put up points. I think Fiz will ride with Knox instead of wanting a guy like Beasley. Just no upside there. Vonleh brings a different element.

All our bigs get into their share of foul trouble, sure Knox, Robinson will as well.

If anything it gives Fizdale a better chance of playing who he wants in crunch time without as much foul trouble looming. Might earn 4th quarter minutes with strong D. Understand why this move could help.

It also gives us more options for small ball lineups. He had a rep for being a stretch big coming into the league. Hopeful he can regain that somehow. Maybe he can replace some of what we lost with Kyle.

I think it just means we’re stretching j. Noah in September

Why? You don't gain ANYTHING from stretching Noah until the next move of filling his cap space is determined. In fact, you handcuff youself
