Not a single guy with character issues in the hof?

Not sure what you mean? Knicks1248 in the HOF?

karl sound bitter to me, sounds like a man who's been fired from every coaching job he's ever had, more so because of his personality, and how he communicates.
Mainly because his personality!
Nalod wrote:https://nypost.com/2018/09/23/ex-coach-s...But that does not mean he is always wrong.
Yep, summer league is not a true indicator of a players future success. Next. Fair enough.
But for those that recognize athletic ability and special potential....Knox deserves the hype.
conflicted feelings about Karl
on the one hand he's very candid (too?), accomplished etc
On the other hand it's only a matter of time before he does or says something regrettable, like call your Superstar a superstar (small s), or not-that-super-Superstar, or Super-Selfish-Star etc
agree with earlier posts about the article being a non-piece, stating the obvious etc

Notice how all time winningest coaches tend to be not very likable? Auerback, Jax, Karl, Larry, Sloan, etc. Pop has a mixed fan club. Don Nelson was mixed but he rubbed people wrong. Same for Football Coaches. They are very rigid and like things done their way. MDA came off as arrogant.
Good/great coaches are very arrogant.
Karl is an asshole. He don't give a phuch if you like him. He don't care if Knick1248 thinks he's bitter.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "all". I think KC Jones and Riley and even Jackson were liked -- perhaps not universally but generally. Sometimes it takes the players a few years to grow up (sometimes after they leave the game) and appreciate the coach and his role.

i like the mention of kc jones. bird always lauded his brand of leadership. if bias doesn’t die, i think kc ends up as one of the all-time greatest coaches.
I think you said it all in the thread title
A RARE underrated Celtic!

He doesn't care if you think he's an ass hole either, but ill bet he will never have another HC job in the NBA, he has burned too many bridges with players...
Great regular season coach, lousy playoff coach.

This. The Knicks are a very competitive beat and he needs to manufacture stories. He probably tried to get Phil to talk, but couldn't get anything out of him lol
Phil was not the here. Karl is 67 and cooked. Nice call 1248. Pretty obvious he was done after SAC.

Likable by who? The media? The fans?

People who try to be liked by everybody are worth nothing.
They do not make other people better but rather corrupt everything they touch.
Great coach and teacher is the one who makes players or students uncomfortable.
There is no other way to make people to better themselves.
So nobody likes this coaches. But many respect them which is much bigger that love.
