Magic had soured on him and were considering trading him before this happened. Not a good injury for such a tall player. I would have considered trading for him, but we can’t take on any more salary and I think Franks versatility means he makes more sense.

Wow.

I could only imagine if a trade doesn't get done

The Lakers have “pulled out” of any more conversations in trying to acquire Anthony Davis because of “outrageous” trade requests from the Pelicans.

The Lakers were not going to give the Pelicans the six to eight draft picks they wanted for Davis.

The Lakers had agreed to send their entire young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac to the Pelicans, as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the Lakers no longer were interested in bidding against themselves for Davis.

“They wanted more and more and more,” said one person. “There was no more to give. They had cap-relief with Hill being in the deal. But the more they wanted the more it because outrageous and unrealistic.”

The Lakers have said they will offer less in the offseason, even if the Boston Celtics are involved in talks.

6 to 8 draft picks... early Mardi Gras high??? Anthony Davis is not God.

Wow.... Philly got a steal. Boban is the final piece they need to win the title.

Wow, didn't see that coming at all! Thought Sixers would go for Mirotic instead (would have been a lot cheaper). They lost one of their guards in the trade, so fingers crossed they'll be more likely to trade for Wes.

Not sure if I actually like this for the Sixers- don't see how they're going to keep Embiid, Butler and Tobias happy- not enough ball to go round. Great trade for the Clips- not only do they get the 2 1st rounders, and 2 second rounders they also get Landry Shamet on his cheap rookie deal, AND will get their own 1st rounder in this draft if they fail to make the playoffs (it's lottery protected and without Harris, they're less likely to make the playoffs)

One of the reasons why I dont want to max out a PG, especially Irving. Washington is going to have to do a full rebuild, Wall will be pushing 30 when he gets back.

I would offer a future first rounder in a deal for Bradley Beal. Not sure what else it would take, but a Smith jr./Beal backcourt would be tough to slow down.

The Phoenix Suns are nearing agreement on a deal with the Miami Heat of Ryan Anderson for Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington.

Johnson has one season remaining on his contract at $19.3 million.

The Heat will save on the cap and luxury tax in 19-20 with the move.

Ellington could be rerouted to another team before the deadline.

Don’t really understand it from Miami’s point of view, very good for suns

Luxury tax, this year and next. At best Miami is one and done in playoffs for this year and next, might as well cut corners

I’m surprised they just went for luxury tax savings- thought they’d want something back for Ellington. What the heck happened to Ryan Anderson this season? Couldn’t even get mins on one of the worst teams in the league, though he’s been declining rapidly for a few seasons.
