Why would you trade a 20 year old elite defensive player still loaded with potential again he’s only 20 years old. He’s still a great back up player. He can play 3 positions what if he takes a huge step forward this year. We’ll be thankful
Side note: I want us to sign taco fall to back up Mitch .
You trade a 20 year old that hasn't quite developed like hoped if you think the upside of a draft pick has greater potential than the player you've spent 2 years looking at closely.
I have a feeling no one offered us anything worth taking.

Berman said late 1st or early second. His cap hold is 5mm. I think that further devalues. Im trying to be objective and not interject my fandom or hate. Really I have no idea what the knicks are thinking other than Fiz's comments it was unfortunate the team could not see DSjr and him on the court at the same time. Fiz's idea of what he wants or needs from him is likely different than what Phil's idea was. It justifiable he has not been given clarity/opportunity that Drafted by PHil who was fired two weeks later, then coached by a lame duck Horacek fighting for his job, and then comes fiz all while the roster around him changes vastly. It will be resolved at some point. He stays or he goes. He plays or he don't.

I think I read that Denver had him ranked tenth overall on their board. He could be this year ears Mitch.

When you get the #3, you expect him to be good & hope you won't be disappointed.
With Iggy, #47, you're playing with house money, to some extent. Less chance of extreme disappointment, if you find out he's not NBA material, more excitement if he's a diamond in the rough.
Read somewhere that the Knicks graded him as a late 1st talent and didn't expect him to be around when we got him.
He and Hinton are the guys I really want to see in SL, because of the potential "steal" feeling, which is what we got with Mitch and Trier.

yeah 2nd round is unpredictable but we have a tendency to grab guys who fell. Mitch would of been a lottery pick if he played college. The Lakers were planning to take him at 25 but took a gamble he would slide to 40 which I know they regret. Trier obviously went undrafted surprisingly. Iggy like you said could of been a late first or early 2nd

Will Bol be a Lampe, who teams ahead of us would eventually be glad they didn't take...or, as someone said here, this year's Robinson?
At least he's not in the East, so if he's a stud, we won't have to go up against him.
Not sure Denver would use him on the floor with Jokic, so I wonder how much playing time he will end up getting.

I’m no scout. some had this kid top 14 and some fans thought he was top 5. Nalod did the eye test: “Does he look like a pro basketball player? Not to me. His dad played in a different era. I saw his dad play and he was able to play in short spurts in a different era and his height was the advantage. Bol Bol has skills by all the video’s showed him in high school and he lasted 9 games in division 1. Thats it. Put him next to KP even at their early ages and they are night and day. And still we have KP not able to stay on the court. Bol Bol not for a lack of trying but that is not a body. For pro ball.
