Thing is even that's not fair to use as a comparison as this draft is not rated as highly other than via the hype machine of NCAA hoops and Barrett is 100% about that as he played for Duke.

KP was booed, but I was far more excited about him as he was a better prospect than RJ.

I'm hopeful, but my expectations are not as high as it seems quite a decent portion of our fans appear to feel. I get it, it's the draft. Hype machine is what it's about.

But it gets tired when you have your doubts. That's me, and I'm on board with the pick. Hope he finds his way, proves those not as excited wrong, and at least becomes a valuable "asset."

I mean you have a right to your opinion but its not just hype, the kid can be a complete player and has a high motor. He was considered the top prospect for a long time, im sure that is gonna drive him even more

I hope you're right. He's good, but he's fallen off from where he was rated a year ago otherwise he'd not be pick #3. Let's be real. I think he can be a very good player, don't get me wrong, I just have my doubts, but there's no reason to think he can't be a very good player.

A player that sometimes we get at #3? Not sure most suggest that. Of course, there's always those things that change outside of expectations, but the level of sophistication at least about use of data is far different than the past. That isn't the one variable to look at, but it's something to pay attention to, and I wonder if some who are so high on him are not really acknowledging some of the concerning trends he had in his freshman season despite the "big" numbers.

Was a Kenny Walker fan, back in the day, never forget a Knick winning the dunk contest. RJ is more skilled IMO, Has a gear that Walker didnt. Walker was a decent role player, believe RJ is on another level, Barrett should be a better rebounder, passer, scorer, defender, you name it.

A reason to have the draft after FA is that if we strike out on bigs names, and don't want 2nd and 3rd tier FAs available this year, we can take on a contract expiring after next year, knowing we won't be missing on a top tier FA.

Every prospects has concerns even Zion and Morant. If anything I think RJ has been a bit underrated

Anyone at the end of the draft having issues with the cap/luxury tax? Would we take on a contract for next year to get a late #1?

A reason to have the draft after FA is that if we strike out on bigs names, and don't want 2nd and 3rd tier FAs available this year, we can take on a contract expiring after next year, knowing we won't be missing on a top tier FA.

That isn't the one variable to look at, but it's something to pay attention to, and I wonder if some who are so high on him are not really acknowledging some of the concerning trends he had in his freshman season despite the "big" numbers.

Every prospects has concerns even Zion and Morant. If anything I think RJ has been a bit underrated

We know what positions Barret can fit in at, at least. I'm one who has doubts about how Zion fits in with his size and lack of shooting range, at least right now. I think he will adapt, but he has issues, too.

OKC has been offering the 21 to take on one of their contracts, the problem is I think they are all multiple years. Roberson is the cheapest at 10 million per year though

If we could pick up Terrance Ferguson and get rewarded with a pick - why not? He's young, talented, athletic and not overly costly. We are likely to need another year with our young guys anyway...

Don't know how they feel about Grant and Schroder, but they both have 2 yrs left at 9M & 15M respectively.
