Any rumors on who the knicks are thinking about trading? I'm not a huge Hardaway fan, so he would be my choice.

it has to be to clear cap space. So that means Lee or Hardaway Jr. I mean I hope its to clear cap space

EnySpree @ 12/21/2018 7:14 AM
Bulls already have their scoring guard in Lavine...

Maybe Lee, Mario and Burke? For Parker

While we're at it can we trade Timmy for Wesley Matthews?

ankurk @ 12/21/2018 9:02 AM
The kings also have lots of cap space. I think they are a team that realizes that they will not attract marquee free agents and will need to build through the draft and trades. With no first round pick in 2019 - and a rising Fox, Bagley, WCS, Hield - they might be buyers to make a playoff push.

Expiring contracts - ZBO, Shumpert, Koufos
They have expressed not having a true SF and would like one

Sending Timmy and Lee/Lance for expiring ZBO(hasn't played a single minute this year) and Shump would really set us up nicely for FA and help the tank as well. Thoughts?

jrodmc @ 12/21/2018 10:17 AM
Sure, let's get some team to take oft-injured goods that we overpaid for.

Why would our FO dump it's own contract that could have been viewed as an effort to spit in the previous administration's eye?

Big Chief Triangle trades away Timmy for Jerian Grant and a cup of coffee.
Perry and Mills decide to pay big boy money for Timmy to come back after a season and a half of slightly better than he did in two seasons here.

Sounds like a great idea. Maybe we can get Sactown or someone else to throw in a first round pick too?

The knicks look at THJ as part of their future, I'm not sure why people think the knicks would try and trade or dump him for cap space..That just makes them look as dumb as the bulls (who signed parker 5 months ago, and now looking to dump him)..

ive always been a fan of timmy but i would rather have the extra cap space. We have trier and dotson. Plus a lot of shooting guards in this upcoming draft

There is a Euro player named Maximus Capspacious who is usually better than any player we have that we want to trade.
He is always available so long as we can dump salary.
He wants to play in NY. He is from NY and wants to come home. Dreamed of playing in NYC since a kid. He Is EurAsian and Black. He is 7 foot tall, has a 48 vertical, is 18 years old, runs a 50 yard dash in 4.2 seconds, has no body fat, can put coins on the top of the back board while texting his parents.
His Agent is a knick fan, his father played in the euroleague but always wanted to be a knick. He memorized the NYC subway map and the NYC telephone book. Backwards.
He trains with Dirks trainer and Hakeem the Dream. At the same time.
Because he went pro at age 14 he is a free agent. He owns his own Bird Rights.
Rumor has it PHil slept thru his work out and Mills can't spell his name. Perry Traded his rights in Orlando to Sac, then again to Celtics who own everything. Rumor has it Ainge forgot about him and his rights expired. Pop worked him out and donated a kidney to get him to come over. Nope, he wants to be knick.

absolutely. i posted about this idea the other day. I think THJ has exceeded my expectations. I think he is an asset. I don't call him Softaway anymore because he's good player. I would trade him simply because Courtney Lee needs to (1) rehab his trade value and (2) get traded. I would love to take a flyer on Jabari Parker but more realistically free up some of that cash money

we may ended paying out more $$ to a player like middleton, for more yrs, who isn't a whole lot better.

As near as I can tell we tend to get hosed when we deal with the Bulls -- going back to Eddie Curry, Rose, (indirectly) Noah

bad karma

Because dumping Timmy greatky increases their chances at max FA's. Dumping him and throwing in a 2nd rounder to trade LEE gives the Knicks 60 million and could realistically offer 2 close to max deals. The Knicks have zero chance of luring Durant on his own. However if Durant was able to pick a running mate say Kyrie or Kemba Walker. Add in a top 5 pick, Porzingis, suddenly the Knicks are damn good. Is it likely? god no. I expect the Knicks to fall 3 spots and pick 8th and strike out in FA. I would rather dream of that than deluding myself into thinking Mudiay is really the PG for this team. I'm sorry but if all these guys were as good as everyone makes them out to be we wouldn't be slaughtered at home by the Suns

What looks dumber? Signing a guy and then dumping because he didn't pan out? Or signing a guy and not dumping him even though he sucks?

Please yes.

Don't think they'd do it.

nyknickzingis @ 12/23/2018 7:38 AM
If we are interested in winning anytime soon, I don't see why we trade Hardaway.

He's in his prime and able to give a team outside shooting and a shot creator. He played well off Porzingis last season when KP and him were healthy and in the lineup.

Next year with KP, Knox and Hardaway, you could possibly pencil in three starters there who could give you 15-20 points each a night. Look to sign a free agent like Kyrie or Kemba, and you're now a playoff contender, while still having young lottery talent improving such as Knox, Frank and whomever we draft in 2019.

Take a look at the best teams in the league. Would THJr be a top 5 player on any of them? No, because he's terrible. His only skills are mediocre outside shooting and taking lots of shots. He doesn't create for others, he doesn't rebound, and his defense is atrocious. He's a worse version of JR Smith.

blkexec @ 12/23/2018 9:59 AM
Hardaway would be a great 6 man off the bench, for any team. But I believe thats his best role because of his inconsistancy and ability to get hot. Plus he will have the green light to be a volumn shooter, which is something he enjoys anyway. It would be best for both him and the knicks moving forward.....
