Man, I don't think it will be cheap to store stuff anywhere. I would sell what you got. Save the cash and calculate what storage would cost you, plus moving your stuff, and save that too. Then when you get a bigger space just buy custom stuff to your new space.

The reason I'm suggesting this is I bought a house and it is full of this crap from the apartments I've lived in over the years. Some of it lived in storage lockers. I hate everything. because nothing looks like it belongs. I cannot stand it. I wish I saved the money I spent over the years on hoarding this crap and used that money to buy something that is customized for where I'll be for at least the next five years

All that said, especially if you plan on storing it for a while, I would probably move it Elizabeth\Linden\Rahway to save cash, and i would possibly even consider going to Western NJ or East PA

Hey :) Thanks for taking the time to answer! I've been doing a fair bit of thinking on the issue of storage, and I have thought about selling.... but many of the items are vintage/quite special to me. I don't know if I could handle selling just yet! My plan is that I may sell them in years to come, but storage feels like the right thing to do now. So New Jersey is cheaper than NYC for this sort of thing? It's funny, if you look here: https://www.boxie24.com/en-us/self-stora..., it appears as if that prices in Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn are all exactly the same, which would be $39 per month for a 2' × 5' storage unit. That's about the size/price I'm looking for, so may well go for that. Will do a bit more research on the topic and make a decision next week :D

I'm surprised you got that price. If you are looking for a fair price nearby I'd just take that offer.

I would try whittle your collection down as much as possible though... trust me, I get not wanting to get rid of a 'right piece' and selling stuff is easier said than done, especially when you're attached. I would say have a plan for these things though. Otherwise you might just end up paying for the space for a decade or more...
