Phil was turned off by that total disrespect, remember when he said

"I don't think I've ever had a player over 25 years of coaching, maybe 30, not coming to an exit meeting," he said, adding that he "had a good relationship with Kristaps over the last two years so it was kind of surprising."

Well, when you main player skips out on you, naturally teams will start calling, and all sorts of red flags goes up.

Mills (who I thought was the main reason he skipped out on the meeting, NOT Phil) and KP's relationship has always been shady..

So he probably did go to Dolan, and told him, this kid is tripping, and I feel like he's trying to dictate how we should run our organization, he doesn't seem to be on board, and this is just bad for business..

DOLAN is always going to have the final word because it's his team, and all owners have the final say, regardless of how stupid the are

What evidence do you have to suggest that Mills was the reason

Rainman got it bad for Mills. He'll make shyt up to paint him look bad.
China trade talks? Mills!
Mexico pay for the wall? Nope, Mills will!
Man on the moon? Nope, Pictures of Mills playing with sandbox near the set!
Grassy knowle? MIlls was a shooter!
John Wilks Booth? Who let him by security? Mills!

Would have been a bad idea to trade KP so soon, in large part because of his brother. Would have taken us to a whole new level of dysfunction. It would be crazy because many of the knocks on Phil's willingness to put in the work, was true. Phil literally phoned it in.

Thought it was already accepted that Dolan stepped in, which was the right thing to do. The problem with Dolan IMO is that he went from playing backseat GM, to being an owner who didnt know when to step in (like with Isiah), back to one who pulled the trigger too fast.

Dolan went from one extreme to the other. Believe that he's learning to show a better touch as an owner. Was a long learning curve, but better late than never.

We've been through this ad nauseum so I'm not going to list all the bad moves and decisions he made on and off the court....Dude was supposed to be the end of the circus like atmosphere instead he made it worse...Don't need the media to see how bad he was. Good riddance!!!

Phil did a couple of good things here but overall, he was still terrible. He needed to go.
