Every man who has anything to lose our days should "stay woke".

This is pathetic. I work with survivors of rape- while false allegations do happen and are horrific for the accused, the reality is the vast majority of rapes are not prosecuted and it's very hard to get a conviction (it is actually very hard to prove- even if you can prove sex took place, how do you prove it was non-consensual if it wasn't accompanied with violence?)- the numbers of women who are raped and get no justice are way higher than the number of people falsely accused.

You seem to have empathy for men who are falsely accused, but where's the empathy for people who are raped? How would you feel if you were raped and everyone said you were just making it up and the person who raped you was treated as some sort of victim?

Interesting claim considering he had just destroyed his knee. Not saying it couldn’t have happened. But this doesn’t seem unlikely to anyone?

I know we all make split second judgements on allegations, but it's really important that we try not to or at least not post our theories, in fairness to both the accuser and the accused- it's not up to us, let justice take its course- they're both entitled to judicial process.

Thanks for saying something man. Glad there are still a majority of good guys on this board even with the rampant misogyny and toxic masculinity people like TT portray. Evil thrives when good people say nothing.

I don’t have a theory. I am open minded. I’m hoping the proper justice gets served. I am just trying to picture that situation in my head considering KP had just destroyed his knee hours before.

I am not siding with anyone in this situation, for the record.

So she went to KP apartment late at night and got "raped"? This is obvious BS, either she was planning this from the begging(to be paid or get famous) or she was hoping for something more(relationship, money), and after KP send her home she goes to Police? BS
nychamp @ 3/31/2019 8:50 AM
The fact that NYPD find her credible (in the article) is the most ominous piece of info for KP from what I've read.

Yes it is, and i am very curious why they feel she's credible. She's already admitted to just be seeking a payday, not justice. Does living in the high-end apartment make her more credible? Or maybe she did her due-diligence a year ago with a rape-kit and such? A lot still to understand about this. And to be honest $68,000 isn't a lot of money if she is truly credible right?

We dont know for a fact, who brought money into the conversation. Wouldn't assume anything. Doesn't sound like the young woman made any secret about payment, in conversations with the police. People dont often go to the cops to complain that their attempt at extortion, didnt work. Guessing there is more to this than we know.

You do know that most women are raped by people they know, don't you? You know that just because a woman goes into your flat it doesn't give you permission to rape her? If you went round to a male friends flat late at night, is it okay if he rapes you?

Consent isn't a difficult concept- women don't lose the right to it just because of the time or the place or the person or the relationship you have with them. If they don't want to have sex with you, they don't want to have sex with you (even if they decide at the last minute)- if you persist in having sex with someone who doesn't want to have sex with you or isn't in a state to offer consent, it's rape.

Just stop. You don't know what happened, dont speculate and don't make your self look more foolish than you already have.

This is a very critical time for the Knicks. How the media handles this KP situation may very well determine if free agents even give NYK a thought.

I think some people have rape scenes from the TV or the movies embedded in their minds and think that's the only way it goes down. I'm sure there are a number of different scenarios that constitutes rape that are a lot different than what's usually is the first thing that comes to mind.

It's just unfortunately that there are enough legit rapes and enough bogus rape allegations that it's difficult to determine who to ever believe, especially when the facts revealed are almost always very murky.

It's just sad either way.

You know this...how?

Every woman deserves to be heard, regardless of circumstances. If she's a gold digging hooah that will emerge in time. For now it's a terrible look for an immature diva. Like others have said...we dodged this bullet. Good riddance is now even better riddance.

It’s an allegation. KP is innocent until proven guilty. The way the media depicts the situation can scare players away. NY media tends to go after stories with aggressiveness that other markets don’t. Some players don’t like it. The media is the main reason top flight player will not consider NYK. I don’t even think media should have put it out in the open. It’s an allegation it for the police, FBI and the judicial system to handle.

Knixkik @ 3/31/2019 2:06 PM
More details coming out now saying he punched her. What a mess for Porzingis. Glad it’s not the Knicks problem.

In a perfect world, this would not see the light of day unless charges were filed. Still, KP was a star in the biggest media market in the world. We've seen him grab positive press for doing nothing. Unfortunately, that means he's going to get extra scrutiny when even the hint of a crime gets committed. That's the price he pays for the game and adulation. He's no a typical guy going through the legal process. He"s KP! He doesn't even play for us anymore and we're still talking about him. Most athletes know the deal. You think Jeter didn't have crap like this lingering in the back of his mind when he was doing his thing?

Take it one step further: All NBA rookies have to go through training or whatever you want to call it for this specific type of situation. They are literally given instruction on how to AVOID this.

Jeter went so far as to make sure he had NDA's with all of his women, right? This is fairly common knowledge

The first place I saw it was ESPN. It is a huge story. In regards to the ny media, I agree that they are intense but players know that. They also know about the state and city income tax. I don’t think the media will be judged based on how they cover this allegation. ESPN and TMZ seem to be out front with the coverage. I do think it could hurt the Mavs that they did this deal knowing about the allegation after their troubles last fall with the sexual harassment investigation.
