....Has to be more to the story! Too much on his plate? Criticism? Over his head? Word is Rob Pelinka is not liked throughout the league. Is Magic taking the bullet for the franchise to correct the mistake of hiring Rob?

Will be interesting to see how this plays out over the summer. Will probably be even more input from LeBron to keep him happy. Too bad for the Lakers that they cant bring West back to calm things down. If LeBron can strike gold with FAs this summer, the front office stuff wont matter.
Sounds a lot like pjax....

This. Hiring a franchise superstar to do a job they haven’t done usually doesn’t workout. What happens to Walton?

"No Phil, we're not bringing back the Triangle"
Phil also had some of the best defensive squads of his time. Other ways Phil can help. Wouldn't give him the keys to a franchise again though.

Up there. Way up there!
Lebron hates Phil and they made a commitment to Lebron.
In some aspects Lebrons behavior might now have some merit.
Magic NBA special word salad bull shyt ranks high. The smile and promised he made to “Restore greatness” was all good bull shyt.
Not lost on this was his total failure of pursuit of AD which might have had some repercussions on why he quit. Maybe league had tampering on him?
Was Lebron going to ask for a trade out? So much.
Makes Knicks look very professional these day!!1

Surprised, I thought Magic would go all in for the Lakers. Seemed like the ripe time for him to do so as well. The construction of the team had everyone scratching their heads though. They get Lebron James and refuse to target shooters to surround him with?
Lou Williams and Brock Lopez went on to have strong showings after Lakers moved on from them. D'angelo Russell went on to make an all star appearance. All their decisions have seemed to backfire on them.
On ESPN last night, Stephen A Smith pretty much reiterated what I said in my initial post....There might have been a rift between Magic and Pelinka. In his press conference Magic said he was tired of all the "back stabbing and whispering behind his back". That could have been aimed at Pelinka....
I thinks it’s as simple as he doesn’t like losing and he has no ideas other than sign LeBron and try and surround him w other superstars which he failed at
Loved him as a player though
Someone did a bad job. Might have been Magic?
Can’t imagine Lebron signed up for that Shyt show.
Glad he stepped down rather than starphuch himself further with a quick coach fix attempt and dumb trades.
Or, maybe that might have been a dumpster fire worth watching?
In the end Lavar Ball stands tall!!! If only they listened to him!! lol!!

Phil did hate on LeBron's "posse"..
Said in an article that LeBron wasnt doing much mentoring this season, Rondo did more. Was distant, didnt try to connect with the younger players. Part of him was already looking to next season.
Dont believe it will discourage elite players from going to LA, if they were already considering it.
If LeBron cant find elite players to join him in LA, the only way I see him fielding a contender is to take a big pay cut, and stack the team with second tier stars.
