It was reported during a Toronto morning show with host Michael Landsberg, with a contributing report from TrueHoop.com's David Thorpe, that Leonard had just purchased a new property in the city.
1. if Raptors win this series Ujiri is a freaking executive god! No Lebron and Boston imploded. Milwaukee was a surprise but too green perhaps and the freak is just not there yet.
2. They catered the franchise to Kawhi every whim. Dialed in his values and health values. They pressed all the buttons. Im sure Clippers will also. Spurs really set in their ways and felt they created him. Can't say I blame them for that level of thinking. If they can get him to stay that puts Ujiri in star category.
That also makes Toronto a major franchise that people will actually want to go to. They’ll look pretty bad though if they can’t beat the Warriors, if the Warriors can’t get healthy. If Klay is better and Durant return, then fun time is over for the Raptors.... at least for the finals.
Maybe a little. Taxes, weather and travel still remain huge free agent deterrent s.
Am I wrong to think Toronto can adjust its salary to compensate for taxes? California Taxes are pretty bad BTW!
Toronto can Offer something no other team can’t: LOVE OF A COUNTRY!! LA can’t guarantee a City!!!
Ahhhh, you mean those under the table cryptos hahaha. I guess. But high taxes with beautiful weather and women year round at a location not too remote might be more appealing to me than high taxes in a nice city with crappier weather. Depends on the person I guess.

I'm hearing they want to keep him, but who knows They still need a GM.

If Perry/Mills could find a way to get all three of them to agree on their share of the pie. Would be a lot more willing to flush most of the youth movement, if it meant KD/Kawhi/AD.
Otherwise KD/AD, and gutted roster isnt very appealing. Better chance of getting good vets to take less with that big 3. Would take some big time wheeling and dealing by Perry.

I am hoping our main target is Kawhi. No disrespect to the other top candidates, but I love his game; he's younger, etc. If we can pair him with a KD great but I would be ecstatic if he was paired with a bona fide shooter.

Do Kd and Kawhi actually fit Together..
Like your going to invest 60+ million in 2 guys who play the same position as your last yr lottery pick. Not to mention the PG position is a mess, and we have no sG

yes.
when those 2 are among the top 5 in the league, are unselfish, don't actually play the same position and are the best mentors possible for last year's lottery pick.

Yes because you trade last years lottery pick and others for AD then. It’s position less basketball now.

If we pulled in a miracle and signed Kawhi, I'd feel good about our chances of winning even without KD- just surround him with role players and keep all our young guns:
PG- Pat Beverley/Rubio, DSJr, Kadeem SG- Danny Green, Barrett/ Culver, Dotson, Trier SF- Kawhi, Knox PF- Marcus Morris C- DeAndre Jordan, Mitch, Kornet

If you were given a Ferrari you'd complain the trunk is not big. Give you Bentley you'd complain about the gas mileage, Give you Tesla you'd complain about its range. Give you a Prius you'd complain its too slow. Give you a new escalade you'd complain it handles sloppy.
1. Both can shoot from the outside. 2. Both will move defense, Knox will have open looks. Same for Barrett, DSjr or anyone else. 3. Can trade for PG. Not sure you really need one. But lets assume so, you can trade. We have assets. 4. Unless you bring in AD via trade. Then its another problem.
