If you were given a Ferrari you'd complain the trunk is not big.
Give you Bentley you'd complain about the gas mileage,
Give you Tesla you'd complain about its range.
Give you a Prius you'd complain its too slow.
Give you a new escalade you'd complain it handles sloppy.
1. Both can shoot from the outside.
2. Both will move defense, Knox will have open looks. Same for Barrett, DSjr or anyone else.
3. Can trade for PG. Not sure you really need one. But lets assume so, you can trade. We have assets.
4. Unless you bring in AD via trade. Then its another problem.
They are very talented players, but to me, that's not a balance roster..
Am i oppose to signing them both..Hell no, but those 2 would not be my first choice to pair together.
Marbury and Francis
Melo and Amare
Starks and Houston..
Can you name a championship team where that teams 2 best players played the same position..
Well, those examples above don't really work because KD and Kawhi can each defend positions 1-4 (and Kawhi can probably guard some 5's too).
It's a different game with different players today.
Also none of those players you mention can hold a candle to either KD or Kawhi - on offense or defense!!!

Clyde and Earl the pearl.
Pippen/Jordan
Robinson/Duncan (1st chip)
Elvin Hayes (Played center before traded)/wes unseld
I named 4. Im stopping here. Might be more

Kawhi is our new best friend...
Seriously though, I think we're stuffed - the idea of KD was he'd bring another max player with him. Now even if we did sign him, he's out for a year and will be diminished, so doubt any max player would want to sign up for that.
Factor in Kyrie doesn't want to be here, kemba doesn't want to be here, klay isn't leaving GS.
Rebuild via free agency is now over, it's time for the long, slow rebuild.
Throw the bag at DLo and then hope RJ, Knox and he can carry the scoring load.

You should stop because your embarrassing yourself
Earl was primarily a sg than anything
Jordan is also a SG and pip was a sf/pf
Robinson is Center and duncan a PF/C.
But like I said, I'm not oppose to it, it just would not be my first choice.

You are the one embarrassing yourself. Francis/Marbs and Melo/Amare are not in the same league as Durant and Kawhi. Not even close. And Starks and Houston could have won a championship in 1997 if it weren’t for that Miami brawl.
Hell, I’ll go on and say that Marbury and Francis SUCKED and Amare and Melo sucked a little less.
Come dude. That would be an elite duo. They can play off each other no problem too.

Of course you'll argue the nuances to defend your vomit. Earl was a PG before he came to NY. He played off the ball in NY more. Duh.
Pippen played 3 postions, he was a point forward at times. Bulls PG were not the primary ball handlers, they were off the ball sharp shooters. BJ Armstrong, Kerr, Porter, Paxton.......none strong penetraters, great outside shoot. Pip and Jordan were wings.
When Robinson retired, Duncan became the 5.
Siakim and Leonard are both wings.
It goes without saying no two players can play the same role at the same time. But your saying that Durant and Kawhi can't play together? That's absurd. NBA has many teams with "Positionless" players. Durant at 7 feet was able to play multiple positions. INside or out.

If running to play fortnite gets him ripped, all for it, lol.
These kids have never known a world without the internet. I feel bad for them. It does improve your hand/eye coordination, but you can spend too much time playing of course. That South Park episode on Warcraft was spot on, and hilarious.
Havent played any online games in almost 10 years, not much offline either. When the tech feels like its stagnating, I wait until it gets interesting. The PS5 looks very interesting.

Fortnite is free and download only...not at GS
I was looking forward to free agency all year, now it looks like everything gone to s***. Without KD no signing makes sense.
I do think we should try and sign a role player or two though as next years FA class is diabolical
I'm very comfortable not signing anyone at all and continuing the rebuild. No Skipping Any Steps!!!
Throw the bag at DLo and trade DSJ for Josh Jackson and the Suns’ pick 32. Then take on a short long term contract for a future pick. Like Gallo or MKG. Then give D. Jordan a decent contract to stay on the team for another year to mentor Mitch. Maybe pay Mudiay cheap to stay and play backup
Starters
DLo
RJ
Knox
Jackson
Jordan
Bench
Mudiay
Frank
Dotson
Vet attached to Pick
Mitch
Emphasize defense, passing to the open man, and transition offense
Haters are gonna hate...
I am with signing KD and red shirting him this year...no question
85% KD is better than 3/4 of the league....
I am doing it...Hailmarying this MFer
With no risk there is no reward...
Also we would still have a diversification of assets to mitigate the risk that KD becomes an albatross...we still have young talent and picks...and another max slot to play with this summer or next
Im with KnicksFilmSchool Macri on this.

It's an awful move, I remember going through this s*** with Antonio McDyesse- always waiting, always deluding myself that he was going to come back okay. However if you must convince yourself this is a great idea, think of it this way:
It allows us to stink another year and hopefully land another high pick in next years draft. Furthermore 2020 is a terrible free agent class, so you don't really need any cap space that year as there's literally no one worth signing- it's complete trash. So really KD's salary only becomes a problem in year 3 and 4, by which point it's either sink or swim- either our young guys have started developing and showing their worth, or we're a trash team and are continuing to land high picks in the draft.
