Another poster on realgm (who said Knicks were drafting Knox before it was known) has also said their source says kyrie to nets is done.
Looks like he’s off the board and Kemba is off the board if the hornets offer the supermax. Starting to worry!

We don't need either of those two

Believe it bears repeating that a PG taking up most of the cap (or too much of it) has for decades mostly resulted in failure. Thats why Id rather give DSJr a chance, or draft Morant. Would rather the Knicks used the cap room saved from overpaying a PG, to shoring up other positions. And still have some room to sign some max players.
Would consider this a blessing for the Knicks long term, if maxing out a PG, isnt an option this summer. Perry/Mills haven't jumped the gun yet on deals. Hitting the panic button.
If free agency turns out to be nothing to write home about. I trust them to do a good job of playing the cards they've been dealt. No big deals mostly to win the backpage.

The problem is, if they don’t sign Kemba or Kyrie, then to get KD likely we have to trade to get AD, so essentially we gut the team and end up with 2max players, rather than gutting the team and having 3, or getting 2max FA’s without gutting the team

oooohkkk...so why should we believe CJ again?
I missed that part
Kyrie was born a knicks fan....But everybody has their opinion, including CJ. And everybody has the right to be undecided or continue to change their minds like Kyrie.
This is a big decision for their career.
I just don't see Kyrie going to Brooklyn, they already have a PG who couldve been a finalist for most improved player in the NBA. And he's a little cheaper than Kyrie.
But I'm sure more rumors like this will increase as we approach July 1st.
The bold is not true. He grew up a Nets fan
Are you sure?
Even if so, they are no longer a jersey team, it's not like he would be doing a Labron(coming home) thing.

First off, I am positive he grew up a Nets fan. What does it matter though? They are still the Nets, whether they are in NJ or Brooklyn. They hardly moved far at all. Regardless, I am pretty sure that he would prefer their situation over ours anyway. I’m surprised that Kevin Durant supposedly is not on the same page. I actually hope they both do go to Brooklyn. It would make them far less likable and maybe we can sign D’Angelo for cheaper than the max. Which BTW, he totally lowered his value with his airport incident. That would put us in a really nice spot while the Nets become an injury prone $hitshow. At least we’ll have guys who hopefully continue developing while we have a new all star.

I here what your saying and i'm not oppose to your scenario either, but that would be my plan B or C. First we need to find out what's going to happen on draft night, that will determine your next move.

Fact is they are a playoff team and we won 17 games. At the end of the day its not about Nets but their Roster, Opportunities, culture, Coach, Front office and ownership. The arena, history and current brand are not important because if they succeed attendance increases, and the Brooklyn fans will get loud. The storied franchise thing is a myth. In fact Clippers and Nets have a clean slate to build their own legacy. Kyrie might see it as virgin territory and can build his brand. Via Stephan A, Durant won't do Brooklyn. He states too that if Warriors lose he might stay. Win he leaves. Since Kyrie is so weird and abstinent in many ways I can see this some serious smoke screen is he so desired to play with the media and fans as well. Nothing suprises me. Imagine a scenario where Kawhi turns his back on Spurs, looks like a traiter and strange dude, and is three wins away from a chip and rumors are he's happy there. Anything can happen. And it will.

Plot twist: Cris Carter says it's the Knicks that don't want Kyrie, rather than Kyrie not wanting the Knicks, due to 'concerns'- said he's not too sure it's Kyrie's choice
That would give me hope that we have something/someone else lined up. Honestly Kyrie does not fit into the kind of culture Perry said he was trying to build and I can't be doing with all that third eye 'woke' s***!
Ack, can free agency just happen already?! I've no idea what's going to happen.

How quick this all changes!! If true I applaud the knicks commitment to stay drama free.

Kyrie definitely going to the nets now

They must also be signing another max, maybe butler (wasn’t there that rumor months ago about him teaming up with Kyrie) or Tobias.

Personally...I think it is a smoke screen....I just do not see the draw of the Nets.....they have none in the city.....NYK was 17-65...and still was a draw over a playoff across the river.

I don’t think it matters if the Knicks or Nets are a draw. They still get paid what they get paid and the Nets have a better roster with less media attention. That seems like Durant’s dream come true!
I have no clue why there is a rumor that Durant would turn down the Nets. Why would he? They are just better.

How??
I thought the whole draw was to have the same love he got playing at the Rutger..to have his own franchise ..etc...etc....You are not getting the same love with the Nets..sorry
They are better because they are in year 3-4 of the rebuild....if we are 2 years out from now we look better too...i just do not see it....real Knicks fans are not going to be root for the Nets...you are not getting that same love...shizt if you want less drama stay in GS with a guarantee for a title run every year.
Again I think this is all a smoke screen

Nets and Hawks can't finalize the deal until after the draft, so why do the deal now and lose 2 first round picks unless they definitely know Kyrie is going there and they can sign a second max? Kyrie is going to the nets, I don't know how much more proof you need. The only question now is who is the other max? KD, Butler or Tobias?
shinmen@ 6/7/2019 6:15 AM
There was noise about the Nets seeing Russel and Irving fitting well together. I think that's what going to happen. It's a no defense backcourt but I don't care, it's not the knicks.

I get it...they are positioning themselves. He may have told the something but I will believe it when I see it. Unless KD goes he makes them marginally better. And I do not think KD goes.

Thank god we aren’t wasting our money on kyrie. The guy has peaked and is still a terrible defensive player.all those injuries are catching up with him he looked dreadful in the playoffs. Also not a leader.
KD I could swing either way .
The real prize of this free agency is Kawhi Leonard. We should go all in on KL !
Nalod@ 6/7/2019 7:20 AM
They can now sign one max and Keep D’angelo. The fact they are not a draw is whey they are doing this and its good basketball. A playoff team with what they have now and can add a “Star”. For the player they go to a drama free playoff team and get paid. Perhaps media attention is a bit less because its the NEts.

agree 100%. Would also like to add a shooter at 2, e.g., Klay or Middleton (who is still underappreciated as a player IMO)

Kyrie might not have heard from the Knicks yet. How things went down in Boston might have changed some minds in NY. Would it surprise you? As far as Kyrie to the Nets, this might be his plan B.
