From a marketing stand point makes sense with both Kyrie & KD coming to NYC but going to the Nets & Knicks respectively.
Someone on the realgm said Kyrie was in town this week and all his people said he was going to the nets.
Certainly fits with what he said earlier in the year when he said he's going to do what he wants, not to please anyone else. Hope he marburys that franchise!
I'd gone off the idea of Kyrie, but coupled with the interview with kemba where he says he wants to stay in Charlotte, has me worried
Most FA’s with bigger money say the same thing about wanting to resign with team. Have to create a market. Charlotte says they want to resign him. That right there drives up the price. YOu also need choices.
What comes out of their mouths holds little value. They say the right things. Also you don’t want to alienate the team you leave. WHy piss off a market you enjoyed a good relationship with? Not good to have anyone burn your jersey!
As for Kyrie, this cat is very different. Last week he was all abuzz with LA. This week its Brooklyn. His people should not be saying a damn think if they are “his people”. I could see Kyrie put out smoke screens to mess with folks. HE is in NY cuz he is from NJ, his parents live there, he just bought a place there and none of this matters to where he resigns. Tell me where he is on July 30th and with who.
Case, you chatted with CJ McCollum or this is what your read. Who did he speak with? Its not common that players talk about others and where they are going. If they are friends especially! Instinctively it would seem if he is that tight with Kyrie he’d put out some smoke as well.

I spoke with CJ extensively in the locker room at Sky Gym, 42nd and 11th in NYC. He's a shy kid. A kid really. Very introverted personality. much smaller in person physically than I would think of as a NBA player.
We chatted about a few things. I complimented him on his game 7 vs nugs and the 35 pts scored.
I asked him what KD is going to do - he said he does not know - that KD is going to the Knicks or Clippers most likely. I asked if KD would go to the lakers - and he said no, that's not in the cards. He said no one knows what KD will do for sure.
We chatted Kyrie - I said he's a strange guy - CJ mentioned that he is a weird "cat" - I asked if he's coming to the Knicks, and he flat out said "No, he's going to the Nets, because he's from NJ, but he'll still be playing in NY"
I asked if KD would go to the Nets and he said no.
I asked him what he thinks of KP. He said that KP gets drunk in public often and behaves poorly when drunk - I said that's the eastern european way... he mentioned that KP got messed up in his home town. I mentioned he had his bodyguards with him. CJ mentioned that KP shouldn't have been touched then. He mentioned KP will still get his 150M max extension. I told CJ that he'll get the max too - which he laughed off and did not agree with.
"No, he's going to the Nets, because he's from NJ, but he'll still be playing in NY"
Does that seem reasonable? Forget Kyrie the Grumpy teammate and not great with young players. Its easier to change an attitude than a jumpshot and Kyrie can change.
If Nets did not feel good about his locker room presences they not sign him. I trust Marks and Atkinson who have their culture in place. Either Kyrie adheres to it or everyone should walk.
CJ (can't we all be on a first name basis with him too now?) comment really just does not make any sense.
No disrespect, but seems like a lot to disclose to a guy you just met in the locker-room.
There is a lot of chatter about him to the Nets. Personally Im good with that. I dont' hate the nets because we have not had a legit rivalry with them in a long time.
But I like the idea of both NY teams being competitive. Love to see meaningful games between the two in the future. NY basketball gets elevated by having relevant teams playing relevant games!
I'm just letting you know what he said. Period.
All this subject to change

Im not challenging the validity of the statement. Just wondering if it what he said made sense to you and in the context by which he said it.
Its funny you said about how he look in person. I met Dr J in his playing days and he was sitting. His upper torso was not large. About avg man size. He was all legs, arms, and hands. I was a waiter at that moment. Cool dude.
He was a few years removed from Long Island and said: "big fan over the years, was at the last game in Uniondale, Thank you!!! Have to ask if you would have liked to play for knicks".......
He said: "Oh man, things working out pretty good in Philly, things happen for a reason I guess!, can you bring me more bread?" I wanted to ask him about Durant but he also wanted more butter.

Kyrie was born a knicks fan....But everybody has their opinion, including CJ. And everybody has the right to be undecided or continue to change their minds like Kyrie.
This is a big decision for their career.
I just don't see Kyrie going to Brooklyn, they already have a PG who couldve been a finalist for most improved player in the NBA. And he's a little cheaper than Kyrie.
But I'm sure more rumors like this will increase as we approach July 1st.

His situation in with the nets would be no different than it was in boston, and why would a PG be on the nets bucket list when they have russel who is a very good pg..
In fact I would have no problem taking Russell if kyrie prefers Brooklyn

I think Russell would be great off the ball.
They can trade one of their fine young guards for other pieces.
Russell can play PG and keep Kyrie fresh and when he misses his 15-20 games.
Not every situation is replicated. So no, its not Boston.
Their attendance is pathetic. He is fun to watch. $$$$ Nets basketball club is in the entertainment business.

The potential to mess up the nets is pretty high. Do they move a first or couple of firsts to get rid of Crabbe? Of the free agents available, replacing Russell with Kyrie doesn’t seem to be the best move for their franchise.
I hate the Nets so I wouldn’t be disappointed if they did something that screwed up their franchise.
better the Nets than our Knicks! Kyrie to Brooklyn!!!

His situation with the knicks is much better than he would have with the NETS.

The bold is not true. He grew up a Nets fan
Another poster on realgm (who said Knicks were drafting Knox before it was known) has also said their source says kyrie to nets is done.
Looks like he’s off the board and Kemba is off the board if the hornets offer the supermax. Starting to worry!
