Knicks · if we're considering trading our pick (plus other stuff) for AD, does it make sense to consider Bradley Beal (page 1)

he's still only 25 and would be a better age fit with other FAs we are considering
smackeddog@ 6/13/2019 12:17 PM
I like Beal a lot, I'd definitely consider trading for him if the price was very low (say the 3rd pick & DSj). Anything more and you're just building yourself a prison.

I mention this in april when the "kyrie to the knicks" was a heated rumor, i actually prefer Beal and KD,over kyrie and kd..
I know the wiz need to do something other than keeping beal and wall together and avg 35 to 38 wins a season, right now they are in cap hell

I agree about Beal, i really like him. I would like him, but probably not for the 3rd pick, plus whatever else it takes. If we can get him with future picks, Knox, Dotson, DSJ ext, that's fine. Pairing Beal and RJB would be ideal. But i don't see it happening.

I think he comes cheaper than AD, because it's more of cap relief for the wiz

my god why? I mean he's pretty good. We likely draft RJ/Dotson/Trier/Frank/Jenkins/Garrett... How does Beal make us much better? We need playmakers and stoppers. I see the biggest holes as guys who can help other guys get easier shots and guys who can lock shit down on D. Beal is nice.

I don't think it make sense for either AD nor Beal. We are not one piece away... makes no sense to empty the cupboard

By himself i don't see him coming cheaper, but maybe we can absorb the last year of the Mahimi deal and lessen the cost?

He's their lone asset at this point. Cheap is relative at this point. Yeah, he'll come cheaper than Davis. But they'll still want to violate any future trade partners once they get new GM.

If our plan is to stock up on FAs to win now, I think he would be a better option than an 18 or 19 year old pick
I would imagine it would be straight up for 3 or part of a bigger package where perhaps we include a pg (which they need) and get another pick or player back.
We need a sg who can shoot. We need a team where players can complement one another and not just take turns going ISO
He's young enough (25) big enough (6' 5") shoots well (has been as high as 40% 3pointers, >50% eFG)
If we decide we can't get the FAs we want -- and instead use space as trash collectors to get more picks -- I would definitely keep the 3 pick
