ConlyGet a player who can help you start winning, forget the "Kanter, Rose" type trade that nets you a 2nd rndr and disgruntled player.
I'm tierd of getting these avg players that end up getting bench by feb (to play the youth) because your 20 games under 500. we have been doing that for the last 6 seasons
I’m with you but how do you expect us to contend for a championship with those guys. I understand we haven’t done so in 20 years and we won’t this year unless we get Kawhi (which I hope we do still) but if we end up getting really nice players with big contracts that can MAYBE help us win more games and MAYBE help us get a 5-8 seed then we end up back where we are in 5 years from now, with maybe a couple of 2nd round exit to boast about.
Yes, the losing is REALLY bad. We need to continue thinking long term though. If we stay on this track, we are bound to find gold. This is called creating our own luck and not praying praying for something lucky to happen. Kind of like what the Warriors were doing before their championships.
The losing has got to stop like NOW, it hasn't done any good, we're losing our own picks in the process (kp, willy, frank at least mentally). Stop thinking that if your not a title contender than you should be focus on a top lottery pick. I rather build off a playoff run, than another 50+ loss season
If this FO can't build a PO team this off season with the amount of assets they have(more than other FO in the history of the franchise) then find someone who can.
Why are we taking other teams junk, like were a Sanford & Son organization
While I agree we need to stop losing. Can’t operate based off desperation. Have to make moves based on sound basketball decisions. By collecting as many assets and future picks and cap space as they have. Knicks have flexibility to add quality players without it being a lateral move or sacrificing the future.
If Dragic can be had due to Mia looking to just dump salary. Then that’s a sound move if the top tier FAs don’t sign. What’s not a sound move is trading a first round draft pick for Dragic Out of desperation to attempt to win now.
You certainly don't have to worry about this FO making any risky moves, they have clearly proven to be the most conservative FO I every witness. The fact that they abandon the AD trade just to save one of the dallas picks, the fact that they couldn't trade kanters expiring contract or Noah (would have had to give up 1st round picks)and just decided to eat salaries for dinner and waive every one is a testament to how they think.
I can't wait to see what they get for Frank?
IMO anyone of the guys i mention is worth a couple of picks..Conley and CP3 can still produce and can be valuable mentors to trier, and DSJ, Barret or Ja. The other 4 guys are all stars

It probably had more to do with the pick swaps and that Lakers were willing to give up. Lakers also have Lebron to pair with him. We don’t have Lebron making a move like that 100x more risky.
Other teams aren’t stupid. You can’t blame the Knicks FO for other teams not being stupid. Eating Noah’s contract was the best decision for that situation. He only cost the Knicks 6mil in cap for this FA. That’s not worth the 1st it would take to move him.
Guys like CP3 or Conley are finishing touches type of moves in a buy low scenario. Example Toronto trading Valancunas for Gasol. They are not moves you make to start the contender build. Since they will only lock you into mediocrity if that higher tier star isn’t acquired.

lazy open concept ranting. What was the price to trade Noah? You think they did not try to trade Enes? They wanted picks. He is a FA. The market was thin, thus anyone could have him when waived. If he was traded I don't think teams were be lamenting about it. Its Enes Kanter!!
You complaining about knicks not getting Davis? By some accounts Lakers paid more than any other super star EVER!!
They have Lebron. They have a two year window likely with him. They need to have a chip to counter the shyt storm that could follow. My take is Lakers will get sold soon.
Willy? We doubled our investment. We got back two second round picks. Willy is not doing well.
KP was developed well here. He was on his way to his first all star game. He blew his leg out. The rest is unfortunate. Personally I think it sucks and not happy we had to trade him. What really went wrong? On the other hand you have an anemic diva who wants top draw treatment and has yet to prove his status. He has talent but can he be the face of a franchise for 6 years, be healthy, and act like a max player on and off the court? Hindsight will tell us the story.
Your whining lacks detail. Complain about things but really have no basis to say team should have done better. Noah was a mistake. You want to give away a first round pick to move that contract? That's nuts..

Conley’s best days are behind him. Utah gave up to much. But at least they already have guys like Gobert, Mitchell, and Ingles and been in the playoffs the last few years. Knicks aren’t at the stage of the process where moving picks for a Conley makes sense.

Conley’s best days are behind him. Utah gave up to much. But at least they already have guys like Gobert, Mitchell, and Ingles and been in the playoffs the last few years. Knicks aren’t at the stage of the process where moving picks for a Conley makes sense.

The AD trade IMO was a toss up, I would have been just as happy if they traded for him, and I'm cool with them not trading for him..

He's gonna be 32 as the season starts and played 53 games last year. His window doesn't fit our current situation. $32.5 mil out of the $70mil in cap space available for maybe one or 2 years of high level ball hoping the injuries don't continue. How is that smart business? Conley is the 3rd piece you add when you already have 2 other studs on your team and are looking for that extra bump. He isn't the first piece you trade 2 draft picks for. Then hope to add and build while he eats 32.5mil of the cap space and took away assets that could be used to build.
Oklahoma City has increased its efforts this afternoon to shed salary along with the No. 21 pick en route to dodging luxury tax, league sources say. Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, Dennis Schroeder all very available at the moment.
It plays very nicely into this strategy. 21 can mean someone who was projected 12-15 who falls on draft day
Roberson + 21 would be great

They’d have to be so many it would be criminal. So no, no to CP3’s horrendous contract.
I’m NOT for trading for Wiggins bc his contract is terrible and his play has regressed.
His stats though were better before Jimmy Butler was there; he’s 24 and from Ontario like RJ Barrett.
It seems way too big of a risk but maybe a coach like Fiz can bring out the best in him.

I'd be willing to take Gorgui Dieng (~$15 million per) for that pick but not Wiggins. That contract is too crippling to ever justify getting. I'm not even sure Wiggins will still be in the league before it expires. One catastrophic injury and he's barely G-league material.
I also wonder what they plan on doing with Jeff Teague's expirer. He might be useful as a stopgap at PG. I suppose I'd do Jeff Teague and Gorgui Dieng for the 11th pick and a future pick swap. I'd really like to target Sekou Doumbouya with the pick.

We have had a stop gap PG since charlie ward, when is that going to end
The FO should not be concern with adding more 18/19 yr olds or adding 1 yr players. That just makes no sense, the results of that route produce 17 wins
