If he talks (ignas-brazdeikis) talks alot of sh_t,
and he ain't Larry Bird, then he's a long way from being NBA ready help.
CleaverGreene @ 6/21/2019 1:41 AM
Just noting- Barrett, Wilkes, and Ignas are all in that 6'6" to 6'7+ range.

NBA Comparison: Dillon Brooks/Kyle Singler

Strengths: A natural scorer, very aggressive in finding ways to get points … Has elite touch on his drives … Good 3-point shooter (39.2%)... Has the NBA-coveted ability to create his own shot … Makes the most of his natural athletic gifts ... Led Michigan in scoring as a freshman at just under 15 ppg ... Will battle more athletic players and closes the talent gap with intangibles and heart ... Average quickness but possesses a surprising first step… Has a really good feel for the game… Should be a productive pick-and-roll guy at the next level … Uses his strong shoulders to absorb contact well, and finish off plays … Wide physical frame that will allow him to add 10-15 lbs of muscle early in his career … Competes at a high level on both ends of the court and on the glass … His fierce attitude will help cover for aspects of his game that he lacks physically ... Very solid and consistent demeanor and performer ... Over-achiever type ...

Weaknesses: The biggest question will be on the defensive end as he lacks ideal length and in particular foot speed … At 6’7 and not that much bigger of a wingspan (6’8) he won’t possess the quickness and length to stay in front of and check NBA small forwards, nor the length or physicality to match the power forwards… 8'5 standing reach is good for a shooting guard, but small at the 3 position ... His toughness will help him initially but over time he will have to figure out how to overcome his defensive deficiencies… Offensively, to become elite he’ll have to improve his vision and playmaking skills for his teammates, otherwise he’ll put himself in a situation where he may be valued only as a spot-up shooter ... A good but not great shooter, but could improve as time goes on considering his level of dedication ... Shot 77% from the free throw line, which is solid but if shooting is his forte, he'll need to raise that ...

Outlook: The Lithuanian born-Canadian raised athlete has offensive skills that could land him a spot on an NBA roster for multiple years … Landing on a roster that plays small lineups should benefit him, especially on the defensive end where coaches will have an easier time finding him the right matchup… He will have to expand his game offensively in order to become a quality scorer in the league, but at only 20 years old he’ll have time ...

Notes: Hails from Oakville, Ontario, Canada ... Born in Lithuania ... His father, Sigitas Brazdeikis, is a 6-6 former professional MMA fighter from Lithuania ... Nicknamed "Iggy" ... Competed at the 2018 Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon ... Measured 6’7, 223, 6’8.75 wingspan, 8’5 standing reach at the Hoop Summit ... Plays mostly left-handed on the floor, but is right-handed in his every day life ...Averaged 14.8 ppg, 5.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game in 37 games as a freshman ...

Have a feeling that this guy could become a fan favorite. Has some swagger. Successful older freshman at a major school. Not sure if he can defend at this level, but this was a solid pick.

Obligatory beefcake photo.

Stories all say he’s a 3 point gunner but highlight reels show a guy committed to taking it to the rack

He seems to be good at both. His main weakness may be defense, but he can't be worse than Knox on d.

NY has its own "IGGY" now.

Plays with lots of fire and works very hard. Good Athelete from the video. Frehsman player of the year, and Led team in scoring! Probably came out too early. Had he stayed another year, likely would be a first rounder next year. Can shoot it too. And is a slasher. gets to the rim.

Perry got another good one.

Wilkes too is a sweet player. 3 guys all 6'7". The Knicks are finally setting up the team to play in the current NBA. THe last time they did this or actually were ahead of the trend was 1999.

NY is collecting TALENT. I like the draft results so far.

edit: Did NY just get the top 3 spot up players in college last season??

Looks like another steal in the draft by this front office. Let's not forget that we traded up to get him! Another left handed shooter, and a great one at that. Let's see if his defense can improve.

They suggest he is.

He looks like that a-hole player you definitely hate as an opposing player. Those are valuable pieces on YOUR team, especially if he is such a good 3pt shooter.

After watching the highlight video, it's clear to me that he was the 2nd best talent in the draft

I've always liked those a-hole players, Gary Payton used to be one of my favorites

Surprised that they did not mention he was a lefty as a positive. Always hard to guard lefties. Reason why I liked RJ even more. We now have 2 young ones.

Pretty much never misses, from what I can see. You want players like that.
