Knicks · Adrian Wojnarowski : Durant to announce free agent decision tonight . (page 3)

the East is weak
fitzfarm @ 6/30/2019 5:07 PM
With all this said, the knicks could still trump the nets by signing the best player in the nba in Kawhi
Welpee @ 6/30/2019 5:07 PM
Maybe the Nets will jump from last to next to last in attendance next season.
Chandler @ 6/30/2019 5:08 PM

it was nice to think about KD and Leonard, but we may have dodged a bullet and the Nets may be doing their new version of Pierce/KG. We'll see

I will keep fingers cross for Leonard but the fact that two guys who supposedly wanted to be Knicks spurned them makes me think that all this hype about players liking Mill and Perry will now be fully debunked if they skunk out on stars.

fitzfarm @ 6/30/2019 5:12 PM
If I’m the knicks I go after d lo hard he’s better then Irving
StarksEwing1 @ 6/30/2019 5:12 PM
Nets better pray Durant comes back the same because Kyrie is always injured and they are basically giving away deangelo Russell who is younger and has evolved. I like Jordan but if they are paying him too they dont have enough to build around. Plus no picks
PresIke @ 6/30/2019 5:12 PM
So how's next years draft looking?
Welpee @ 6/30/2019 5:12 PM

Not really. Nets going for the headlines. Kyrie is injury prone and Durant tore his Achilles. Plus this isnt golden State where he had Curry Thompson and Green
Well, we tried to do the same thing and apparently struck out.
fitzfarm @ 6/30/2019 5:13 PM
True New Yorkers wear orange and blue and that will never change
anrst @ 6/30/2019 5:14 PM
This is great news. We dodged so many billets. Let the media say and do what it wants. Same media that will be celebrating Sean Marks is same media that will be burying the team when kyrie gets knee surgery and kd gets another foot surgery while rehabbing the Achilles
PresIke @ 6/30/2019 5:17 PM
2 more years of almost guaranteed sucking with arguably only 1 real true potential top young talent in the team to truly believe in (Mitch).

Sorry, RJ is not it to me. Y'all can feel that way, but I am nowhere near as excited and feel most are overhyped about him because he played for Duke so everyone knows who he is, but compared to past #3 picks I'd argue his amongst the weakest in potential I can ever recall.

KP was booed at the draft, but I was way more hyped about him than RJ.

Our owner is a totalitarian idiot and management has failed at every turn no matter what way you want to cut it. I 100% supported the KP trade, but it has failed as of now. Let's be honest.

18-19 years and counting of trash results. I was not super into signing KD injured as it seems a major risk, but I was beginning to change my mind. Now it is certain that the time we need to wait before we can actually have hope to be that good seems at least 2-3 years away, if we are lucky.

Patience...how long have we been hearing that one again? Just sayin...

It is Simple if Kawhi stays in Toronto ……...Sit on the money Knicks !!!!!!!

Sorry man, that ish is changing. No one under 30 cares about the Knicks that much, and why should they?

Brooklyn sure to blow up and arguably surpass the Knicks as a result of this, even if Barclay's is not the same and the fans are mostly plastic.

Old NYC is dying very fast and this is just another nail in its coffin.

A lot of folks born and raised in BK are Nets fans now, even if they may like the Knicks a little. It's a local thing. That's millions of people, and there are a lot of real NBA fans in BK. Now they have the star power to be the talk of the town.

Knicks fade into oblivion holding onto the past with our old and suburban based fans. Until we are actually good again we won't compete, but there's a new noisy neighbor and they have awakened.

GustavBahler @ 6/30/2019 5:23 PM
I know Im supposed to be angry if Durant/Irving went to Bklyn, but I wont be. Durant would be a big gamble. Counting on Kyrie to keep it together physically, and emotionally before Durant is back in game shape, is a bad gamble.

There was a Berman article from a few days back on the front page. Which is an interview with a doctor. He spoke of the long odds that Durant would be worth his contract.

If Kahwi isnt coming with Durant, dont care. Just dont want to see a classic Knicks plan B. Overpay big for too many years.

KP was a douchebag who wanted to leave....we did the right thing. RJ isnt overhyped. Honest after Durant got the worst injury you can possibly get I didnt want to go down that road again. Kyrie always gets injured and always has problems with teammates. Id rather build through the draft then cripple our cap with injury prone players or trade all our assets like we foolishly did for 15 years

I think you are right...Durant's agent is a die hard knick fan and i'm sure he understands the hatred we have for the nets and he couldn't deliver his client to us. The optics of this move looks really bad....Scott Perry, Mills and Fiz couldn't overcome the Dolan factor...

2-3 years? Like the time it’ll take Durant to come back to full strength if he ever does (he won’t)

And we’ve actually NEVER heard been told patience til recently. One short sighted starphuch move after another had been the norm.

We have been patient, yes. But the org has never had any kind of Longview in mind.

Totally Wrong. As bad as the knicks have been we still own this town which pisses the "jersey" nets off

I live In BK and interact with a lot of locals in my work and life who are not transplants and they are BK fans. Not diehard, but they like them.

For example. The Daily News columnist, Shaun King. He's from BK and he's a net fan.

anrst @ 6/30/2019 5:27 PM
If the Nets have more fans in New York than the Knicks I should care bc why?

Only the media cares

codeunknown @ 6/30/2019 5:28 PM
Very happy that both Durant status post Achilles injury and Irving were avoided.
Build around RJ, Mitch, Trier and potentially DSJ. Continue to evaluate Knox and Frank.
Sign underrated 2-way players like Patrick Beverly to budget deals. Let the pot simmer and allow assets to appreciate.
