Sorry man, that ish is changing. No one under 30 cares about the Knicks that much, and why should they?

Brooklyn sure to blow up and arguably surpass the Knicks as a result of this, even if Barclay's is not the same and the fans are mostly plastic.

Old NYC is dying very fast and this is just another nail in its coffin.

A lot of folks born and raised in BK are Nets fans now, even if they may like the Knicks a little. It's a local thing. That's millions of people, and there are a lot of real NBA fans in BK.

Totally Wrong. As bad as the knicks have been we still own this town which pisses the "jersey" nets off

I live In BK and interact with a lot of locals in my work and life who are not transplants and they are BK fans. Not diehard, but they like them.

For example. The Daily News columnist, Shaun King. He's from BK and he's a net fan.

Naw man it will always be the knicks town, they are the Mecca. Brooklyn is and always will be just a borough.and now they have two washed up stars

Knicks - worst record in the league and probably the worst record in team history: 9th in the NBA in attendance.
Nets - first time they've made the playoffs in four years, first time they've had a winning record in five years: last in the NBA in attendance.

Just saying...

They won't be last next year

Fifth from the bottom?

He couldn’t even take a stacked Celtics team to the ECF how the heck is he going to bring a nets team even to the playoffs with D Jordan and ...CL ?

Makes us look really bad...

Why Mitch is already a better player

The fact that he's leaving us to go cross town....The fact that he was already here, along with Royal Ivey (I believe Durant his the godfather to his child), Trier, Durants mentor, and Perry who was apart of the team that selected Durant. Durants agent grew up a knick fan....All signs pointed to the knicks and he still spurned us....the optics look really bad.

Optics are overrated. The Knicks won day 1 of free agency without doing anything. Sign Beverly, Danny Green and Robin Lopez, and allow assets to appreciate.

Agreed

Who cares how things look

It LOOKED really good when we resigned Melo

Optics aint overrated when you consider future prospects see big time players spurn Manhattan for Brooklyn...the nets have have more winning seasons than we have had since 2000, have been to the finals, and dont have an overbearing owner like we do....Not a good look for us.

I’m not flipping.

I wasn’t crazy about Kyrie.
I wasn’t crazy about KD after the injury.

DeAndre is a shame but good for the Nets if he can help Jarrett Allen reach his potential. He wasn’t officially in our plans either.

I just have no idea what the Knicks have planned with the cap space. I’m in “surprise me” mode now...

Kyrie misses every other playoffs due to injury. If the trend holds, he will be out next season. Without Durant there, he will probably try to do too much.

Couldn't disagree with you more. You are grossly simplifying the decision making of players - past free agent decisions are a blip in the radar relative to the fundamental differences in compensation, quality of life and team architecture. Whether the fundamentals are unappealing is a different question altogether, but Kevin Durant's decision is hardly a sentinel event and his previous decisions have been questioned by past and present NBA players alike, as expected. The idea of a herd mentality here is overrated, and is perpetuated by media analysts who are frequently wrong, including in their prediction that Durant would join the Knicks in the first place.
