I'm not sure how I feel about this signing. Morris good, but he gave his word to the Spurs. I'd be livid if it happened to us.
Morris is a good player. Don't know how they are splitting up minutes up front. As long as Mitch plays at least 24 minutes im good

The Spurs signed Trey Lyles to a 2 year contract after Morris pulled out. Since we have Gibson as a big brother, I might have looked at Lyles, 23, I think, before Morris.

2 big brothers better than 1!

Yeah, I feel the same way. And were we still negotiating with Morris after he verbally committed to the Spurs or did his reps approach the Knicks after the Bullock situation went down?
And speaking of Bullock, if the dude can't play why are we trying to work something out to still sign him? I thought everything is contingent upon passing a physical?

You gotta have some vets on the team. Can't just have a squad of young players.
I don’t know all this PF talk. Morris is a true combo forward and essentially plays like a big wing. He is likely our starting 3.
We all know Morris will be bought out just in time to do what RICH PAUL wants him to do...and thats join up with Lebron in Feb

Hope Morris tries to smooth things out with the Spurs, publicly thanks them for their offer. Hope its about more than money, family, something like that. Otherwise not a great look for NY.

Clippers might be more likely.

To be fair, players get lied to all the time- I seem to remember Marcus himself re-signed with... the Sun, I think, on the condition they also keep his brother, then a few months later the team went and traded one of them away. Guess he learnt a lesson that day.
I would have been pleased with this move if it had happened at the start of FA, but at this point, I won't lie, I'm a bit worried about how Fiz is going to keep all these vets satisfied with minutes
Mitchell is not ready for 30+ minutes a game. He needs to add strength and stop fouling before he plays big minutes. You give Mitchell 24 mins and you give Knox 24 mins, then you have Portis play backup center, Randle starts with Morris playing some backup PF, Knox stars with Morris playing backup Sf, and the Dotson starts with Trier as backup. You then give RJ a few minutes at backup SG and backup SF. You then have Smith and Payton run the point. that is a ten man rotation. Injuries will also free up some minutes. It is doable and now Fiz has all the talent and experience he needs to win more games.
The competition for the starting lineup will be fierce.
This is a weird move because of the controversy, the fact that he is a good player and the expectation that we could have a starting lineup where no young player is a part of it.

Morris will start at SF.
I can very well see Fizz starting all vets in the starting lineup.
Portis, Randle, Morris, Ellington, Payton
Then backing them all up with the youngins.
Robinson, Knox, Barrett, Trier, Smith
With the possibility that Smith and Payton swap. Allowing Payton to work more with the younings while Smith works more with the vets.
If we couldn't get the big shots, I think we did all right with all that money. We will be competitive and anything less then a 500 season will be disappointing!
