From what, he was not to blame here.
He was not the problem nor the cure. His star faded.
Is melo changed? Has he accepted a less than star approach and thus a better teammate?

If so he owes some teams apology as well. Start with Knicks who gave him a NTC and near max money. He said he’d “Sacrifice his game for the greater good”. He did not. Not belligerent mind you. Not a scowl or a towel on his head. He did it with a smile.

Where are all those The Ringer and CBS Sports writers at who were laughing at him after his first two games?!?!!?

Eating a bit of crow this week. Melo obviously put in some work and is adjusting. Maybe Melo can tell us what he did different compared to last year or the year before. POrtand is a better team than ours. This should work.

Ooops, Melo had a bad game against the Clips! You can regurgitate that crow now, Nalod.

Like I said weeks ago, nobody's calling him FatMelo now. Good for him. He's on a real team now. That backcourt can be scary good, and Whiteside is the freakshow monster we hardly ever saw from KP. Would be overjoyed if that was MitchRob's ceiling. He gets 10 freaking blocks?!?!??? Then he looks pedestrian against the Clips. Not good.

Will be interesting to see how LeQ and AD fair against the New Clips!

CBS and other reporters eating crow. Not Nalod. Nalod says Melo owes teams that paid him an apology if he is really this good.
Portland has a great backcourt. Whiteside is playing for his next contract. Its what he does? Miami ran him off but mostly that Bam was ready.
He is inconsistent. Sometimes Riley makes mistakes.

Bucks beat Pistons by 23. Im not saying pistons are good or not. Im just saying Bucks messing teams up these days. They on it.

Pistons fought like hell; Fizzdale said (not me) Knicks didn't think they could beat the Bucks from the start

So we get it; you like Fizz and want to preach patience; you're entitle to that view.

others see the situation differently

I was hoping the Bucks game was a stinker as the team had fought well the night before. Its not that I like Fiz or not, its more the hope and preference for stability. There were reasons why he was hired and my hope is that acumen would prevail long enough for him and the team to create something even while the roster matures. Given our previous changes did not elevate it the notion making another does not offer me the relief as others seem to welcome.
If Fiz has lost his team then there is no coming back from that. OUr yoot is being exposed to toxic environment which does not make me hopeful. IM at a loss for logic.

Nuggs on it too, apparently.

I honestly thought that tweet was going to go on and say every member of the Knicks starting 5 is shooting 5 3pters a game while shooting 21%

I hate it that stats on FG% are everywhere, even on TV, and yet they don't show eFG%. Everyone talks about advanced stats and this is like the easiest one to understand for fans and yet all we see is FG% which is useless when trying to compare players or for players that are heavy 3pt shooters.

Average eFG% for NBA is 52%. Melo shoots eFG% of 45%. Portland may need his PPG but I wonder if they need his below average shooting combined with his below average defense.

I think they are pacifying Lillard and McCollum. That's why Melo is there.

I was hoping the blazers would be interested in Randle or Morris, but I think Melo puts paid to that

I don't follow Portland much but Rodney Hood had been their starting SF and a good part of their spacing - shooting 50% from 3.... similar to that of Morris, and he just tore his achilles.

Blazers have a special player in Lillard and he's proven over and over that he can carry a team to conference finals or deep into playoffs, just need the right spacing players around him to be even more effective.

Wouldn't put it past them to make a play for a guy like Morris.

Melo is eating up minutes and certainly can put points on board but he is more of a placeholder than key player/cog for long haul.

Feels like Portland can still grab an 8th or 7th seed? They will need defenders and shooters at the PF/SF stop for LAC/LAL

Report out there staring the 'stache is likely out of Houston after the season. I wonder if a title changes that?

Wasn't the story that he was out unless he wins a championship? Which he won't!

They have the salaries to match- mainly Bazemore (expiring $19mil). I'd hope we could get one of their young players like Simons or Collins (unlikely! Maybe if we throw in Trier), or a mid to late 1st rounder.

The 2019 draft class absolutely stinks so far- their shooting percentages are awful! Early days though, but the numbers are pretty horrific

1) Zion - injured
2) Morant (the one that got away)
3) RJ
4) Hunter
5) Garland
6) Culver
7) Garland
8 ) White
9) Hachimura
10) Reddish (horrific)

some think building through the draft is a good route
