Knicks · onto a more positive note... Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson (page 2)

The thunder flipped melo a yr later (when is declined was even more evident) for Dennis Schroder and forward Mike Muscala, 2 guys that we could desperately use right now.
If your telling me you prefer frank, DSJ or payton over Dennis Schroder..I would suggest you put down the crack pipe.
Im just glad knox didn't work with keith smart like DSJ did..
Who is talking about Dennis Schroder? Atl opted to rebuild rather than keep him around.
If Knox can stay in front of his man he'll be good. I watch him around the ball a lot and he's working hard and getting better. Knox has grown on me. If he keeps shooting well it he's a nice player. His passing and ball handling skills have clearly improved as well. Mitch looks great but both of these guys are gonna take a couple more years
dude was a -24 last night in 18 minutes, that was the worst plus minus of any player in the NBA who played last night...
He has a looong way to go, and he should not be starting with Randle and Marcus, that line up is toooo slow

Frank did not score, knicks won the game. Not frank, not Mitch. Knicks.
Knicks are still figuring shyt out with all the new players. Not just Fiz.
You can look at all the peas and carrots one by one or just look at the recipe and know it takes time for it to come together.
More important than Portis hot hand was the clutch passes that Randle made in the paint when he saw the Double coming. Box scores don’t tell clutch or choke.
Just because knicks won don’t mean the problems don’t exist. The Rainman should find his knick balance. Seems like knick win makes you “wrong”? Did you say when Frank came in “Knicks will lose this lead” again to the other people in the room?

It's cool though, knick fans overate all of their players not name melo...
I'm not knocking Mitch, he's a solid young pick up, and he's on my 2k roster, but I'm not going to overrate him. I think every role player in the NBA has the potential to be a star if they put in the work, and is put in the right situation.

Or the way KK used to bounce off a defender on any of his drives (he still has room for improvement of course)
Knox also plays with little energy/hustle, seems almost completely clueless on defense, and doesn't do any of the intangibles.
Knox has a high ceiling but will likely never reach it unless he has a change in mental makeup (or is in a contract year)
He never seemed to learn teamwork, passing, defense and hustling - he was probably so good in college that he just shot and the rest of the team compensated. Last year certainly didn't help as he was allowed to keep chucking and was reinforced with playing time.
At the NBA level and to be a good team - you need guys to play both sides - it's that simple. He's a bench guy unless he wants to start mixing it up. We either need a more disciplined type of coach, Fiz to remember his Riley lessons or Knox won't find his potential unless it's elsewhere.

i think his defense and rebounding have improved. Certainly more work is needed. He's also usually one of the first to dive on the floor for a loose ball along with Frank

when you go from zero defense to not zero defense, we call that just waking the fuck up, not improved defense

Knox/DSJ/Dotson/Portis 13 game performance has looked like a project-performance mainly because Fixdale has not FIXED his starter lineup yet!

Some kind of “low brow Neanderthal” version of paraphrasing what he is thinking?
Knox should sit until he defends. Tough love time for him. NO play until you defend with 100% effort.
That should be the ONLY thing he talks about in practice and film sessions - oh and that PF's don't handle the ball until its their time.

Knox still trying to figure when he should stay or switch on his man.
It not effort nor lazy, these kids "freeze". They are not mentally tough yet or have developed the instinct and are "Thinking". Like frank might be on Offense. When I say "mentally tough" I mean over thinking instead of reacting. Bigdaddy is right.

I think Fizz did sit him eventually for poor D
Having said that, I do think KK will come around. He seems to have his head screwed on straight

he did not come back in the game. Fiz is not messing around this year. Knox will get back in the next game.
Knox improved on his upper body strength and perimeter shooting. You can see it when he rebounds and his shooting percentage.
Mitch improved on his FT shooting. He looks good and it shows.
These are you guys. Not finished products. 1 had 1 year in college and the other went from HS to working out himself to getting drafted. They are doing well and they will get better
