Mitch improved on his FT shooting. He looks good and it shows.
These are you guys. Not finished products. 1 had 1 year in college and the other went from HS to working out himself to getting drafted. They are doing well and they will get better
For me Mitch didn't improve enough. FT aside, what has changed?
Instead of a trainer, Mitch needs a fundamentals coach, and he has a lot to unlearn

Was he rolling to the hoop like this last year?
he had his best moments when Deandre was here, and when Kerry Kittles was telling him to play D with his feet. I like him a lot but he does need a big man coach -- do we have one on the CS?

I think the big man coach is Pat Sullivan.

Great we won 29 games and watched horrible basketball for year to get a bench player. If thats the best we can do from the draft we should just trade all are picks because we will never turn it around We should Hinkie this thing util we get real buildig blocks

YOu might want to revisit the path Hinkie took to get to where they got to. It was brutal.
Took a new owner with deep pockets to formulate that strategy. Hinkie did what he did because his owner instructed him. Knicks and its fan base could not handle double back process.
At its worst the league had to step in and instruct Philly ownership to ramp it up a bit. Hinkie was the fall guy. They stayed true to a plan. Restep what they did and understand the patience it required. They also wanted to run him out of town. I don’t know how knicks process will go but at its depths 6er’s looked pretty bleak.
Remember when all y'all were acting like Knox was the next Kobe after his first SL?
I do because it was too easy to suggest it was premature, but of course was castigated as if I wrote for the Daily News.
We're so lost and corporate you can see hope die every waking moment.
Everyone eventually gets it.
Fiz thought he could surmount the obstacles and prove the haters wrong.
Resistance is futile?

I don't think we have to go that far- but the sentiment is right- we need to find a franchise talent.
And funnily enough, we shouldn't have really made all the signings we did and tried to tank it the right way.
But then those signings have worked wonderfully as far as the Tank is concerned.
7 straight games of fouling out?! Wow!

Tank? This is a journey to the center of hell.

Barrett absolutely is a franchise talent. The question is can we put the infrastructure in place to develop him as such like Toronto did with Siakam. Barrett is more talented than Siakam and has done things only done by lebron at age 19.
Won’t take long til Barret realizes what Porzingis figured out

Now that’s what we really need to avoid.

I think you're confusing Barrett with Luka, but I agree with the general idea of what you are saying. In hindsight, I think we don't sign Randle if we knew RJ would develop at this rate. RJ is the point forward Fiz is searching for and Morris is the versatile four we need to stabilize the lineup.

Luka is on a different level of course. But Barrett has been doing some incredible things considering he should be a college freshman. I agree about the whole Randle thing. Morris came up last minute, so i think he wasn't even in the plan, and if he was early on, then Randle wouldn't have been signed. The Knicks will have to eventually choose between Morris and Randle at the 4. We saw yesterday against Boston, Randle is a better player without Morris because of spacing. As for Barrett, he is the most valuable profile in the league as a 2-way playmaking wing. That is the premiere positional value in the NBA to build around. Obviously he needs to improve on everything, but he fits the mold you want in a franchise player.
The problem with knox and robinson one can't play defense and the other one can't be on the court because one commits stupid fouls for no reason.I don't its fizdale being a problem for knox and robinson its them if they want playing time they got stop playing lazy.
anrst wrote:Won’t take long til Barret realizes what Porzingis figured out
The problem with barret and what's holding him back his free throwing shooting he missed 5 free throws last night. No guard can shoot 52 percent from the free throw line he can't be nick anderson barret. I have bad feeling if we ever become good and rj barret has nick anderson moment in a finals game they would destroy him like it did nick anderson in 1995 and never became same player after that.

That’s just youth. The weaknesses will be there for a few years.

Finals? We talking Finals!!!!

RJ to become all he can be, and lead us to the finals will have solved his FT' dilemma.
I think a good comp might be Simmons on Philly, kid is a phenom max player. A career 58% FT shooter but up to 61% this year.
A liability actually.. He shoots 55% from the floor mostly close to the rim. We know all bout his 3pt range!!!!
Not the same player. Simmons is a "john wall" type without the shot.

Key word if ever go to finals it not likely right now but his free throw shooting is crap. Barret has already screwed up some games because of his free throwing shooting is bad like the nets game the second game season. All teams have to do is hack a barret like teams do to ben simmons the guy got make his free throws can't go in to him 4 quarter if you brick free throws all time.

My man, your making a good point and for Barrett to be handed the keys to be closer its huge he hits his charity offerings!!!
Just having a little "finals" fun!!! For the knicks to progress they will need a stud like RJ and for him to be what we think he can he will have to get better! It think Clyde told us he is over 60% and trending better.
