Knicks · RJ had dead legs tonight (page 1)

plain and simple. 30 mins a game. WTF... he's 19. He's banging against monsters every night.

Just gave Fizdale credit for keeping Frank loose and helping him hopefully break out here. Can we not run RJ into the ground? Am I just drinking too much coffee at this point?

I think RJ will have these overwhelming games. It’s not being warn down. The nice thing is he contributes in other ways.

Kid is 19. He body wants to sleep 17 hours a night, eat 6000 calories and hormonally wants sex 3 times a day.
Maybe he hooked up with a fine Dallas hottie and she rocked his world. Legs would be dead.

He need to have successful sex with free throws first...

Fizdale pushing back on the question the reporter brought up honestly rubbed me the wrong way. I get that he is young, but these kids need to transition to the pro game.

Is he desperate to win? I get it.

Does he not think it's an issue? Where the hell is the FO to tell him to wake the F up?

Ja Morant missing games with management is one extreme, this is the other.

Guys don't forget that RJ had to go into the paint against KP. He is still one of the best shot blockers in the game, last time I checked. So that might have had something to do with RJ having an off night scoring since a lot of his game depends on driving into the paint. I still like how he compensated by doing other things. Let's see how he bounces back the next game tho. Now if he continues to strugle scoring then perhaps it's the load of minutes that's taking a toll.

Agree with this. Have noticed this as well. Although, I do not blame RJs off night or free throw shooting on minutes but do feel he has been logging in too many. Fiz"s excuse that he has only one PG is irrevelant. Fiz should be looking at guys like Trier to help not his first year 19 year old SG he needs to keep healthy long term.

His hot start has made people forget he couldn't shoot in college. Dude has shot 22-69 his last 5 games, 4-16 from 3. I fully expected a 35% shooting season for RJ is he is trending that way. Yes he contributes in other ways but you aren't winning in the NBA with your guards being this inefficent.

Feel like he is also getting the rookie treatment a bit with fouls and that's OK for now

Yeah, the rookie wall is a thing. I could even understand it if we were in the playoff hunt. And it's not like Knox, Trier and Dot can't use those minutes.

I’m hoping Dotson gets more playing time the more he gets rust off. I think once Fiz trusts Dotson is healthy enough, we will see more rest for RJ.
KidIcarus45 @ 11/10/2019 7:51 PM
It in his head. Hard to fit in night in night out. He is a kid, trying to hang with men. Both on the court and off. So, there will be games like this for Barrett. He will be fine. The kid is great at getting to the rim, in time, his FT numbers all across the board will climb. He has a rock solid foundation of a family, so I am sure he is eating, taking care of himself better than an average rook.

Gotta get this idiot fiz out of here
Cartman718 @ 11/11/2019 10:15 AM
At least his mins are down in recent games, but asking him to play PG when Frank is out is going to be debilitating, taxing his body and mind. The 39-40 mins a night that Fiz was playing him...him running 2.8 miles a game most in the NBA at the time...it was bound to catch up to him. Fiz is clueless. Spree used to play 40+ mins a night as a rookie...sure he did, but not the same number of miles, not the same number of possessions.
