Knicks · Per Wojo, Knicks have fired Fizdale... (Mike Miller interim coach) (page 3)

Boo-yeah

Next Up Dennis Smith Jr.

fishmike @ 12/6/2019 5:02 PM
well here we go... HOPE is back on the menu boys!

Lets be honest with the shadow of Dolan we need luck. That include Miller or whoever being a really talented and good coach who ends up being able to push some positive buttons and get the guys playing better.

Just run the P&R all freakin night, attack the basket, crash the boards, fight over screens and play defense like your minutes depend on it. 12 guys. Go.

Sambakick @ 12/6/2019 5:06 PM
And trade Randle.
MS @ 12/6/2019 5:08 PM
Absolutely pathetic.

Nice hire Perry and Mills. Add that to their impressive resume of trading a franchise talent for cap space, signing worthless free agents that don’t fit a system and then escaping all blame.

The clown shoe continues.

Probably at the cleaners dropping off his suits, he's gonna need them.

And I would like to see them try to press full court. I think Robinson, Frank would be superb - might you give up easy baskets? Yes - but those are better than the wide open 3's that rain down.

And I would run all 12 out there and tell them to ball like their life depends on it, and sub them out every 5 minutes of game time.

Surprised so soon, but not surprised. Not after 2 straight 30 plus losses, apparently a franchise record. Hope Miller gets the call, and can make a case to be the head coach next season. That would be the best outcome IMO.

Fizdale was a sought after coach at the time. Didnt work out, but Fizdale had other teams interested in hiring him.

They let Fizdale run practice today.

Literally, who cares?

I will never understand why that’s something anyone thinks is significant or even remotely interesting

i guess if you have a chance to let the new coach run the one practice before his first game you may as well set it up that way

Just a waste of time. It’s a small thing but what’s the point in making him coach? It’s silly. Just a bad team move. Nothing terribly noteworthy but pr err tty stupid too. It would have been a good time to get Miller to start.

martin @ 12/6/2019 5:59 PM
You guys can’t think of one even remote idea as to why they let Fiz run the practice instead of letting him go? Like maybe they hadn’t crossed all of their T’s and whatnot before moving ahead?

Or do you think it’s better to fire coach yesterday with no plan in place or an idea of who is up next and let the NY media throw fire around for most of the day?

Maybe they weren’t done with understating which assistants needed to go or stay? Rework Mikes contract? Anything?

It's a needed change - everyone was regressing and Fiz showed zero ability to provide any semblance of organized team ball. Welcome Mike Miller and best of luck, you'll need it.

Team has not looked mentally tough, nevermind 3pt D. Last game, they looked sharp for a quarter, then one turnover led to many. Not just Xs and Os. If Miller can help keep them focused for 4 quarters, that will be a big step in the right direction.

To be fair, he probably should have been fired after Monday. That would have given Miller (Lets be honest, that was probably the choice the entire time) a couple of off-days and today to get set. What were they waiting for? They really needed that 10th game to make a decision?
