Like maybe they hadn’t crossed all of their T’s and whatnot before moving ahead?Or do you think it’s better to fire coach yesterday with no plan in place or an idea of who is up next and let the NY media throw fire around for most of the day?
Maybe they weren’t done with understating which assistants needed to go or stay? Rework Mikes contract? Anything?
To be fair, he probably should have been fired after Monday. That would have given Miller (Lets be honest, that was probably the choice the entire time) a couple of off-days and today to get set. What were they waiting for? They really needed that 10th game to make a decision?

OK, but that has nothing to do with what you posted
Propose the next game thread be titled "Time is a flat circle: good luck Mike Miller, we hardly knew ya"

thank u passtheball. u’re a bright man.
Mike Miller is a excellent choice, fiz lack of adjusting his game plan destroyed this team.... just look at the nuggets game, they adjusted there offense and got wide open looks because of the constant helping and switching . Yet fiz never changed the defensive scheme, and they kept getting wide open shots all game long, over and over again.
I know nothing about Miller, but the optimist in me hopes the young guys take off with him and he becomes the next nick nurse or something.

Glad he was the choice. Still shocked by the timing of the firing.
This...feel bad for Fiz as I feel as though the front office set him up for failure. The idea of signing journeymen to make a push for an 8th seed was a bad one. Should have just continued the youth movement and more than likely, Fiz would still have a job. I think it sucks that Fiz is gone and Mills is still here!

couldn’t disagree more. stevens was in a similar situation and had his team in the playoffs in his 2nd year. fizdale is possibly the worst coach i’ve ever seen.
Will be interesting to see who is in the starting lineup, who Miller has in his rotation.

I think Fiz was done after that press conference Perry and Mills had after the Cavs loss. Bad roster and thrown under the bus don't help a coach succeed. I do want to see what Miller can do. He was the guy I hoped would get the job once the move happened.

Honestly, I don't think the front office expected a playoff push. They just needed to see gradual improvement. That wasn't happening. The team was gradually getting worse.
I never thought I would say this as a Knick fan but “it’s miller time” lol
Hope the starting line up is
Frank
Zo
RJ
Knox
Mitch
No way is that line up going to be worse then what fiz came out with

I don't know if the playoffs were realistic - but adding the talent we did was not about the playoffs, but about getting better, adding depth and professionals that could help show the rookies how to tackle the season long grind, and hopefully win more games than last year.
That was not unrealistic, and I do feel bad for Fiz (though he more than got paid!) because the fact is he failed in a big way.

Which Fiz lineup? The one where RJ was the starting PG or the one where Frank was the starting SF? You can't be referencing the one where Knox was the starting SG. That one was pure genius!

Totally disagree!!! How was Steven's in the same situation as Fiz when Steven's coached the Celtics, one of the most respected, stable, best run franchises in the league, a championship winning GM who had already been on the job for 12 years already, a roster hand picked by that championship winning GM, an owner that doesn't meddle?
Of all the coaches you could have chosen, Steven's is a poor choice in my opinion. How about we take a look at a hall of fame coach and a very good coach in their 2nd years that coached under the same Knick Owner?
Larry Brown, who just lost in the finals, won 25 games in his 1st year here! He didnt even make it to his 2nd year in this circus show.
Mike Dantoni won 29 games in his second year here! See a pattern?
Bout Time !!!
21-83 record .. C'mon
I guess I was to early preaching for Fizdale to be FIRED last year this time having a 9-25 record before Christmas .. and 25 different starter lineup changes !!!
I'm happy for Interim Mike Miller, his strategic G.League system was 10 times a better setup than plop plop Fiz Fiz last season.
GustavBahler wrote:stanleybostitch wrote:It's a needed change - everyone was regressing and Fiz showed zero ability to provide any semblance of organized team ball. Welcome Mike Miller and best of luck, you'll need it.
Team has not looked mentally tough, nevermind 3pt D. Last game, they looked sharp for a quarter, then one turnover led to many. Not just Xs and Os. If Miller can help keep them focused for 4 quarters, that will be a big step in the right direction.
Good luck with that one. We have too many mentally weak and emotionally fragile team full of backup forwards. The real change will come when the roster is turned over again, after these 1 yr contracts expire.
