His contract is terrible for a pg his age but he’s still good and will help the growth of our young guys. Additionally we can pry a couple 1st round picks that OKC got from Clippers. Randle & Portis works. This would enable Knox to play the 4 where he belongs.
The idea of balancing out the roster is fine, but at this point i don't know how much of a difference Chris Paul will make more than Payton. I'll just move on from Randle and Portis for a deal involving a bad contract with less years on it.
I'd like to say a million times no, but isn't his contract going to be like 40 million!!
c'mon man

How come we can't look at the whole picture of this type of deal instead of just one side of it?
If CP is on the team, how many minutes does Frank/DSJr really get? Or are you including those guys in the deal?
Also, you pretty much shut yourself out of the Free Agent market for the next 2 years.
There is a reason teams with PGs taking up more than a quarter of the cap almost never win a chip unless you've got a LeBron James on your team. Leaves other positions thin. Our young players arent ready for prime time aka contending. We would be better off drafting a PG. Same timeline as Barrett, Mitch, and other yoots.
CP3 makes 39 this year, 41 Next, and 44 the year after.
Knox is not ready to play the anytime soon.
OKC has to blow me away with picks or yoot and then fans have to ride that process out.
If we do that I want Ujiri or Presti making it. Its a ballsy move and I want someone with balls.

people keeping saying knox isn't ready to start winning like it's to early for him..lol
He's not even on the untouchable list, and could be included in any trade.
But CP3 would be good for frank, DSJ and barett, his worth is not just in floor production, but also locker room leadership

His worth is negative 120+ millions in 3 years.
Of course he is the poster boy for starpunching exercise to provide day-dreaming target for fans like you.
Its enticing to me cuz hes been healthy and he's shooting well but w/ draft coming up and payton playing well, you hold off. I think for trades you go after SG/SF rentals that can shoot(giving up as little as possible). If they play well you try and get the back the following off season. We should also be on the lookout for decent Cs to get proper depth.
CP3 is an absolute pain in the ass. Worst contract in the nba why would we even entertain.
Payton is actually pretty solid. Now that we have a coach who understand rotations and isn’t making everyone switch every play, let’s just push the tempo and let athletes be athletes out there.
This is like trying to convince your kid that an old, refurbished Tickle Me Elmo for $3,000 on eBay is really a great "retro" toy...
Pass, please. How many CP3 threads does this forum need? What the hell is he going to do (other than break down eventually), mentor Frank like he's mentored all the other great young backup PG's he's played with?

CP3 would probably punch Kyrie in the nuts, so I guess there's that

Don't make me bump the Sign Melo, Stat and Lin thread.

This is probably the worst move we can, make. So he could not make much of a difference in Houston with Harden or OKC with everyone's favorite Gallo and a solid player 8n Adams and some think he would make a difference here with what exactly?
We need young fringe stars or guys like Morris playing above or at par with his salary.
OK, Lets be real for a moment.
Would you trade Morris and Randle straight up? The money is about right.
Paul with the kids? Not all great players rub goodness on others. Was Jordan a good lockerroom guy? Mentor?
Wilt? Dr J? Is CP3 a good teacher/leader or just a really good player?

Quite a good salary for teacher... Not sure if he can teach our youth some good manners and sportsmanship. Rather opposite.

On top of the fact is where exactly are the Dynamic Duo Clips going to be picking in the first round for the next few seasons? Yeah, I'm dying to pick somewhere around the 25th and 28th picks in the draft.
