The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly among the teams interested in trading for New York Knicks guard Dennis Smith Jr.According to SNY's Ian Begley, the T-Wolves are one of "several" teams keeping an eye on Smith, but it isn't clear what the Knicks' asking price is or what they could get in return for the 2017 first-round pick.
This is interesting considering they put Jeff Teague on the market given that his contract is up this year. Do you try to acquire Teague? maybe get more wins and he wants to resign along with Morris..yeah probably not but the main takeway is that our youngins are getting looks even in their worst days.
I guess the don't like Culver

I think at this point Payton is probably better than Teague, and younger.

Isn't he more of a wing?

Nah Teague is definitely better. Much better scorer and is just as good as passing but I see your point that Payton is very serviceable.

i think teague has really declined though, especially defensively.
Teague is a dump for us.
I suppose 24 hours ago some fans might have moved him a such.
Nalod gonna ride with Dennis. Been watching this kid since college. I'll let the process play itself out.
I think I'd rather keep DSJ than get anything Minnesota could offer. I never really liked Culver as an NBA prospect (not too athletic). I have been disappointed by DSJ but I think I would rather try and develop him than move him at a discount
Translation - some teams are interested in a low risk/high (potential) reward deal involving getting Smith on the cheap. He's on a budget contract, his stock is at an all-time low, and the Knicks have a glut of mediocre point guards. Nobody is giving up anything worthwhile for Smith right now. If we want to move Smith the best we can hope for a getting somebody else's lottery bust in return.
