Im not sure why this guy thinks he has not gotten a good look here. Carlisle, Fiz, and Miller. This guy has a wide open path with knicks. The only thing I can think of the knicks at least at the moment see RJ as the future 2 and knox the future 3 and he can't supplant RJ Barrett. Maybe knicks no way see him as the future PG. Lets be real, Fiz threw the ball out for them to compete for the starting job and they all banged heads and shyt the place up!
He don't feel he is getting a real opportunity? How about he just stay healthy and in shape long enough to string together 10 games?
Im not hating on him but knicks made a good faith investment in him and dammit I want him to stick and make the Darn KP trade at least look reasonable!!!!!!

Looks like we traded one Diva for another. Two things kept DSJ from getting minutes, injuries and his motor. Could have been in the same conversation as some of the up and coming PGs in the league. PGs out there with half the talent, and twice the production because they're hungry.

Why do do-nothing, achieved-nothing NBA players get to make trade demands? Like other posters have stated, not like he hasn't gotten a chance to play. STFU and sit down.

Regardless to what, it looks crazy that every single season there are players on the KNICKS requesting a trade. That doesn't happen on no other team.

If they are telling him we only have a few minutes for you here and there, wouldn't you request a trade, and I know he feels he can be more productive than frank giving the same amount of minutes.

This just adds to the dysfunction around this F/O, always fumbling and bumbling with the roster..

DSjr may feel he can be more productive than Frank, but the hard data says otherwise. He had one good game.

I don't think this is on the FO. We traded for him, and the FO and a lot here thought that between 3 PGs, we'd at least get some good play, and with everyone's injury history, there be enough time for all of them.

I think DSjr is not built for the heavy demands of a major market like NY.

He’s been a bad player on a bad team and he probably figured he can play more on a different bad team and out of the spotlight. Ultimately he’s a guy that for a variety of reasons isn’t able to succeed in the NY spotlight. I think with a certain percentage of players that’s just the way it is. He’s probably more built for Minnesota or Phoenix or something like that.

I want a guy who sees a player like Payton signed on a one year deal and says eff it. Not a guy who cried when Luka Doncic comes in and accommodate his game or a guy who gets shook when a savvy vet comes in. I don't think DSJ looks right, but I hope he appreciates the fact that he's been playing like crap. Earn the damn minutes. If he can't step up to the challenge of Elfrid and Frank, then he's not built for this city.

Do agree that Smith and Frank may be better suited to be developed elsewhere. But that seems to be true for every young player we have had.

It has nothing to do with the Knicks. He's a diva with a bad attitude. He's young enough yet to eventually mature but that won't happen here.

He claimed his off-season was an intensive reworking of his shot and game and he came in looking like a G-League walk-on. He's had one excuse after another.

Yes, he is a distraction and noise to Coach Miller who has important stuff to accomplish. DSJ didn't have to request a trade, its tattooed on his game face.

His contract is nothing more than ballast to make a multi-player trade work. He will likely be cut on the receiving end of that transaction.

Who's giving up on who tho? The Knicks extended him and give him time to get his game together. DSJ is the one reportedly pushing for a trade. And that 15 and 5 was obviously the result of getting free reign on a bad team. I wasn't calling for a DSJ trade in the past, either. I wanted to see him build his value up. Now, I have serious doubts about his mental toughness.

Reports are just bloggers getting clicks. They know its already on the wall about Knick fans and their feelings for Smith Jr. Easy bait. Most of it coming from fans that still think its a Frank or Smith thing. And Dallas was a chip winner compared to this team. So dont get the "bad team" excuse.

As mentioned, if a team is rebuilding, wants to develop young players and trades their Unicorn for one, why would they give up on them at the beginning of the year? Just makes no,logical sense. Watch we trade Smith, Knox and Frank. Its a joke how this FO changes directions every time Dolan or whinning fans throw a fit.
