Hey at least we're not the team that traded away Luca. Being a Hawks fan, for however good Young will be, is going to sting for a generation.

Hey at least we're not the team that traded away Luca. Being a Hawks fan, for however good Young will be, is going to sting for a generation.
Worse for the Kings- they could have drafted him at no 2, but for some reason Vlade didn't want to entertain the possibility and the went with Bagely instead. Even if Bagely was their man, they could have done the deal the Hawks did with the Mavs, and at least got an extra first out of it (Bagely would still have been there).

Vlade whiffing on Doncic was the biggest surprise for me. It took me (and many others) about 30 seconds to tell this kid was going to be very special. Same deal with Kobe. Divacs was traded for a multi generational player, surprised he couldnt see it in Luka after all his years in the league, and as an exec. Talk about face palm. The only thing that has surprised me about Doncic, isnt the numbers he's putting up, its that he's doing it in his sophomore year.
As Stanley said upthread, glad it wasnt us.
Hope we make some smart trades for more picks this season. Odds are against finding another Doncic in the near future If mgmt sees a player worth trading up for, Id like to see them have the assets to make a move.
If Hunter turns out to be a stud the trade is a win-win. YOung is trending very well.
Not sure many saw Doncic would be this good. Begley is really quite good. How could thy miss it?
