Looks like what is being talked about/suggested is #8 + #27 for #5 and Knicks prob only want to give up #8 + #38 so far.

Knicks are playing hardball but they were working with Cleveland on a trade up. Thibs is in love with Okoro.

If they move to 8, I wonder who their target is. I think we all know #27 is a good value to add.

There are like 3 tiers in this draft, picks #1 & #2, neither of which TWolves or GS really want and are desperately trying to find the right move down package, picks 3-40, and picks 41-60.

Leon was a risk because he didn't have any prior GM experience but he has surrounded himself with smarter people. Thibs was a no-brainer and I like that the Knicks filled the position early.

Next big tell for our FO will be the draft. We shall see.

Honestly I am a big fan of Okoro because my biggest fear is the knicks draft a flawed CAA client because they are a CAA client. The rumors Thibs loves Okoro and that they think he has great upside as a Iggy/Butler/Winslow type player feels like normal basketball operations.

I mean the fact that he would be another draftee who can’t shoot is worrisome, but it seems like the Knicks are prepping to do heavy development anyway...... so they might as well add a kid like Okoro to the roster so he can be developed too.

Picking Toppin will increase the chance of trading Randle. If that is the case who should we trade for Randle if we already have Toppin on board?

Thibs might think he can work it out. He might also look back to his time in Minnesota and wake up with cold sweats thinking about life with another big man who is abysmal on defense. I don't think Randle staying on the roster changes anything. They are already trying hard to move him if you believe reports.

i've convinced myself to be worried about Okoro's shot and his size (while simultaneously admit i've sucked at projecting college taken for close to 40 years)

for similarly irrational reasons i'm predicting Obi will be Amar'e 2.0 all offense but worth it

Im sure the FO will try to swing a trade, should they gamble and get Oladipo for Randle and other assets or go bigger and target paul george, he will cost the knicks more assets but could be a better fit leaving RJ at the 2.

A starting line up like this can be descent.

Why would you want Paul George? He looks to be a player who benefited from a system, coaching and expectations in Indiana and is a fail everywhere else.

I think that would just be a false hope kind of deal that could quickly sour.

Hayes, the 19-year-old left-hander who played in Germany last season, is considered to have a more supreme skill set than the other lottery-projected point guards such as Tyrese Haliburton, Kira Lewis, Cole Anthony, RJ Hampton, Theo Maledon and Tyrese Maxey.

Trading back with the Celtics.... interesting. We do have roster spots..... I think we will trade up though.

For me this is still the question -- which PG? The consensus is Ball is the best but barring moving up which I guess could happen, how do these guys rate? Usually next it's Halliburton and Hayes, and I've seen some mocks with Hampton there. These would seem to be the most likely PGs to pick at #8, with the other guys considered at #27 or a trade back. So what would be the difference in potential between say Hayes and Maxey or Maledon etc.? Personally I have no clue and it's a fascinating if also frustrating aspect of this draft.

This list is missing (or did I miss them?) Jalen Green (will be the 1st or 2nd pick) & Jonathan Kuminga (will get picked in the top 5). Both of these players opted not to play college ball and are in the G league instead. If we have a G league next yr.

I would guess it would be to flip Okoro for Vassel. Vassell seems like the best fit for the Cavs and it gives them an oppty to get another asset. Okoro is the kind of upside prospect that could help the rebuild move along faster if he hits. They might want Atlanta to throw in another second rounder if 27 is in play.

Okoro has the potential to be one of if not the best prospect in the draft when its all said and done. The strength, athleticism, lock down defender, and work ethic are already there. Obviously, he needs to work on his jumper, but he really needs to get in the gym and work on his handle. He strikes me as a player that, 3-4 years down the road, Gm's are going to be kicking themselves for not drafting him when he was available. I get similar vibes from Maxey as well.
