We are not much better. My hope is we help facilitate his move to Minny.
His ranking wasn't really stellar last year, but you have a point. He's good player, but I'm not convinced he's worth the cap hit and he's still not the penetrating guard that we need.
yup yup yup which is why its only an upgrade if the price is right. BUT he's good and he can really shoot it and dont discount that. Also RJ (especially at SG) is a real beast getting to the rim. A great kick out option like Russell elevates his game IMO as well. Ideally we keep Frank so we can bring in a defensive guy as a back up or in 3 guard sets.
Wow...This dude was a -48 last night and his turnstile defense was worse than melo's on his worst day.
Yesterday was the first (whole)game i really watched of him this season...I might be having 2nd thoughts..lol
I think looking at his stats this year is unfair. GS is him and a g-league team. A more accurate assessment may be his performance from last year, which while not elite, was nowhere near as bad as he it is this year.

Personally I like him and for that Knox-Smith-1 Dallas pick (I would add Trier to maybe try and get a 2nd rounder this year or a 1st rounder next year from them).
He kind of reminds me of Marbury play wise. At 23 he can definately develop. History shows either you are good right off the bat or it takes up to 3 years to show you are developing into something. After that it seems a player is what they are. Players developing to above average stars after 5 to 7 plus years is rare.

Think marbury came into the league lighting it up with KG, and was much more athletic and more of a PG than Russell.
I dont think they want smith, they want franks and portis and our 2020 1st round, which is ridiculous..
I would just give them frank, dsj and portis, for russell and cook
the issue is not whether he's an upgrade or whether the trade price is right
the issue is his cap number. That will hang over us. We are in a capped league. You need value to amass a better team of talent
his number will hurt us. they should be taggin assets on the deal. this is a salary dump
food for thought: knicks and twolves are interested. two of the dumbest, if not the dumbest, teams in the league

I would do that trade too.
I’m really scared the Knicks are gonna give up their first rounder and Mitch/Knox or something. You can tell Golden State is trying to rip us off I just hope Perry isn’t being pressured by Dolan to make a Isiah type move

shocking to learn you just watched him, I thought for sure we were working with a much better informed opinion here. At least enough to start a thread about trading for a guy being a "good idea" then 6 pages in being like "I just watched him and he really stinks"
Good stuff dude. Carry on

Does it matter, I watched him a lot last season, and he is on the worst team in the league.

Bad cap for bad cap. If Wiggins thought Butler was tough, he'll love Dray.
I feel like I can breath a sigh of relief now 😂

LOL- we hire CAA to team up Towns and D-Lo and D-Lo is immediately traded to the Twolves ending that possibility- you can't make this shit up!
Awful, awful trade for the Warriors, I genuinely don't know what they're thinking

That Wiggins can be a reclamation project and that no. 1 pick (Protected) might yield a great player. Protected to top 3.
