I don't know how to feel about this , I wanted someone with experience in building a winning franchise .We have stunk for like 3 decades not sure if now was the time to try this "out of the box" approach.I hope it works out because despite what you say about Dolan the man is loyal AF, if this guy stinks he will be around at least 5 years longer than he needs to be.
We needed dudes that move like Tim Connelly and Art Karnisovas from Denver. Everything is sound from drafting, developing, signing FAs, retaining their players with solid deals, trades. And they continue to flip the excess to keep it moving. That move they just involved themselves in to flip Beasley who is solid and Hernangomez for Bates Diop and future first will prove to be another good move in a long line of them.

excellent post. I posted the other day querying if anyone even knew the Denver GM -- who has been awesome. I would have preferred someone similar; non-celebrity, all business and effective

One if the reasons Donnie Walsh left was because he felt undermined by the influence CAA had on Dolan...They were his acting advisors. They were also gifted Steve Mills.

Bob Myers, Rob Pelinka? Who knows what the right move would have been. I am still celebrating Mills being let go. Do know I did not like the idea of giving up one or 2 picks for you know who. However, would of been nice if Dolan's due diligence period was longer than a nights sleep.

Fans who like flushing and burning stars and per-retirement great character vets CAA owned too will be happy.

there is no reason to think this was decided in the two days since Mills was fired.

Mills may have been fired when he was because Dolan, and maybe Rose, thought Mills was ready to do something rash to save his ass. Reportedly Mills and Perry weren't seeing eye to eye on something. Maybe Rose likes Perry's eye for second round talent (this is actually a good thing -- most of the good teams find value here).
Not sure what I think about this. When I think of Leon Rose, I think of Eddie Curry. That’s all. Maybe he’ll be good. I have reservations though.

Pelinka was nearly run out of town around the same time last year because of the dysfunction in LA. LeBron joined the Lakers because they are the best franchise in basketball. Also, Magic was the Prez at the time. I give most of the credit to LeBron and Paul for landing AD.
