Knicks · Tyrese Haliburton Out for the Season (page 1)

TheGame @ 2/17/2020 7:21 AM
Haliburton broke his wrist, and he will be out for the season. It is a shame as he was looking like he might be the 2-3 pg taken in the draft, and I wanted to see how he looked in the tourney, if his team made it. This kids looks like what we hoped Frank would become - a solid defensive, 3-pt shooting point guard, who can run the pick and roll. He was not a dynamic scorer, but he looked solid. He probably still gets drafted in the lottery, but probably wont be top 7-8 anymore.
Knixkik @ 2/17/2020 9:32 AM
His team wouldn't make the tournament most likely. But why won't he be top 7-8 anymore? He has proven himself plenty this season and will be back in time to work out for teams before the draft. I think he's a great option for us. Exactly right, he's what we wanted Frank to become.
smackeddog @ 2/17/2020 12:15 PM
Fortunately it was his non-shooting wrist. At this point, considering we might be drafting in the 7-9 range, players not getting the chance to rise in the mock drafts isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What if someone falls to the LAC pick?

We pick them up! You get the Grangers, the Blair, POrter JR........Take risks. Some work, some will bust.
Pack that an our 2nd rounder, maybe move up and grab someone we really want. Never know.
Trade to a team that wants the pick, and gives us one for next year. More picks can never hurt.

Knicks picked up David Lee at 30. He was an All Star for us.
houston20 @ 2/17/2020 2:28 PM
I still think he will be a top ten pick he is solid player.

Haliburton would be a great pick for us. But is he a splashy enough name for the FO?

What do you see his upside as?

Article on the front page that says a scoring PG is what the Knicks are looking to draft. Agree 100 percent. Even if it takes trading an extra first rounder to move up to get a PG that looks to be starter material down the road. Wont mind if the Knicks go for it. We need a starting PG badly.

Definitely not a star but I don’t see any obvious stars in this draft. There will be someone but it will be unexpected. Barrett would be easily #1 overall this year. As for Haliburton, there’s no perfect comp but I see him as a Rubio level starter. George hill with Indiana is another fair comp if he never becomes a true playmaker.

A PG might distinguish themselves in the tournament. Up their stock. Lets hope its about more than splash with this new FO. Hope they're looking for diamonds in the rough.

I don't see George Hill, at least now. Hill was a good scorer who could shoot off the move and off the dribble when he came in. He learned to be a playmaker in San Antonio. Haliburton will definitely need to learn how to shoot and create better in tight spaces. Still, I'd be happy with a Rubio level starter tho...as long as we don't miss out on the next Steph Curry.

Yeah he’s definitely not George hill. I just meant more in terms of potential impact. Rubio is the closest I can think of but Haliburton is a better open shooter. There’s no Steph curry but I think the draft analysts are starting to overthink Cole Anthony a bit. He’s old for a freshman but still has major upside as a scoring PG. He might not be lillard, but his ceiling isn’t far off. But then again he could be closer to Austin rivers too.

Looking at clips of Tyrese he reminds me of Shaun Livingston. Looks like he only goes to his right.
