why would perry be retained?

Is there no one out there better than him, because he's track record is very bad

the best you can do with him is reassigned him to some low level position like they just did with mills

what track record are you referring to?

MIller is the 13 coach in 19 years. JVG resigned 19 years ago.
Regrets on Monty Williams. Doubt he would have wanted this mess. He experienced enough tragedy in his life.

I'm not so sure about that, the fact that essentially none of those (apart from D-Antoni and maybe Brown) went on to coach again, indicates that it wasn't just us

Chaney was a COY and did an admirable job with what he had. He retired? Wilkins is HOF and was retired when Isiah botched the Fratello deal and somehow Wilkens got in the convo. Nellie coached for years in Dallas. JVG coached in Hou. Woodson is on the bench with Rivers. Hornacek did ok here and can't even say he is even trying. Fish kinda blew his chance. ISiah coached in Florida and did not do well.

Perry is retained to torture you. Mills might have failed as knick president, but not as an executive.

Dude. I said "If". I didn't say he will be retained because I don't know.

There’s been speculation that Perry will be back but in a different role. I think Begley said possibly as a scout.

You don't go from GM to scout, he'll have a front office role if he is back.

Not sold on TT on a young team. He is more for a veteran team.
The Knicks should look for a coach who is good at developing young talent.

Now I do not know what Rose plans on doing with the assets he has. Perhaps he is not going to be patient. Perhaps he will immediately trade his assets for a veteran all-star caliber player, or two players, so then signing TT as coach makes some sense. It all has to make sense. You do not hire TT to coach this group of young players and a lottery pick of 2020 draft. Now say you make some trades for all-star caliber players (in their mid careers) and add some defensive role players, while still keeping some young talent, it could work with TT. You could probably be a lower playoff seed candidate. It all has to work out together as a whole.
