Every NBA fan on the planet Knows SPIKE LEE is the Knicks #1 super fan and has supported the team in some of it's darkest days..Nobody with any sense would look at spike as a DIVA or a celeb starving for ATTn...Dolan's team hiring a bunch of Goons to do security is the problem
Again, if you are really a super fan (and not just about the attention) then why shine the spotlight on yourself after Knicks president's first game and very good win with all the kids playing a part? Why would you make yourself the story on a night like that? Just think about that a little bit.
Why would MSG lie..
If the knicks wanted to make Leon Rose the topic, they would have had a legit press conference instead of hiding behind PR statement/memo, so you can't be questioned.
What does spike gain from the ATTN?
Dolan and MSG already have the worse image among NBA teams, and most franchises in all of sports (accept for the Astro's)
I don't understand you post. I'm talking about Spike. If i was him i wouldn't say a thing. If he really wants to boycott then boycott without going on ESPN to talk trash! Be a man about it don't go crying afterwards!
But if you're gonna go on ESPN as a Knicks ambassador then talk about the great win and how Frank played and how RJ played!
We beat a good team, exposed small ball, and the kids played great. That, and the fact it was Leon Rose's first game.... THAT WAS THE STORY.... instead SPIKE OVERSHADOWED ALL OF IT.
IMO Spike gave up his Knick super-fan badge. So many people were turned off by this
The Knicks drew their smallest home crowd in nearly 13½ years Wednesday night, falling more than 3,200 below capacity in a 112-104 loss to the Utah Jazz
Blame poor play, anger over Lee's altercation or coronavirus concerns, but fans hadn't stayed away from Madison Square Garden in such large numbers since Dec. 13, 2006 -- more than 500 regular-season games ago -- when the Knicks drew 15,895 for a victory over Atlanta early in Isiah Thomas' first season as coach.people are getting fed up, not only your losing at an alarming rate, you are driving your die hards away as well with these BS shenanigans..
Spike is a part of the very culture Knicks are.
Basketball Celebrity Circus.
Less of this celebs are around the team the better we will be.
Organization can be a bunch of clowns or a group of basketball professionals.
There is no combining this.
LOL...right because spike was nowhere around when we were a winning franchise..so now he's the problem..get real dude
If it wasn't for MSG's location, and the amount of celebs that go there, the building would be half empty every night..

You write "people are getting fed up" This isn't news.
People been had fed up with Dolan and been had wanted him to sell the team FOR YEARS.Spike Lee played himself.
and MSG/dolan has been playing themselves every month for the last 70 months
Spike even said that if they had not put out that PR statement, he would not made anymore out of it. But once the Knicks tried to put all the blame on him, then of course, he is going to fight back and share his viewpoint. The Knicks are woefully incompetent when it comes to PR issues with their fans.
I have never heard of any team trying to censor their fans or kicking their fans out of the arena for "sell the team" chants. I have seen crowds with fans with bags over they heads and other such things in protest in other arenas and never heard of the owner ejecting them. Most competent teams understand that you cannot really stop fans from protesting, and if you want it to stop, then you need to put a better product on the court.
