Only to a decent contract. You don't sign a guy who has had a good half season in a contract year who has baggage to a crazy contract. That is the type of decision the Knicks ALWAYS made and they NEVER turn out well. Just on the Knicks I recall contracts like Curry, Jerome James, Julius Randle (although short term).
Woods sample size is way too small to be considered trending up. Especially considering he is the guy being featured on a horrible Pistons team.
Not saying it's impossible, just they need to be careful.

It’s hard to tell. He has a legit outside shot as a stretch 4, and can defend the perimeter on guards on switches.
We need shooting on the roster and a continuation of the focus on defense above all else.

I was talking Christian Wood over with a coworker and I just had a thought as much as we talk about his fit with Mitch. He actually works really, really well with Randle. A stretch 4/5 who can open the paint for him so he can drive better would be a god send for him.
Especially when 1) when I doubt they want to move him for nothing so they should play him to build his value.

Just gonna post these Josh Jackson videos. He’s the type of player the Knicks should take a flyer on because of his youth, upside, and on the low they can use some wing depth and even as a bench player he could bring value if he avg about 12-14 a game.

Yeah i'm not really concerned about who fits with Randle. He's a stop gap. Mitch is the long term building block. And i agree about Jackson. The talent is undeniable but the attitude and lack of shooting/go to skill makes him not too interesting to me. Plus he's an older prospect. He turned 21 during his rookie year.
Any realistic names stand out? Personally, I think any player with a player option will opt in as max salaries and cap space are going to be way down this offseason due to the stoppage.
If however these players became available, would you be interested in:
4) Gordon Hayward Boston Celtics SF Status: Player option Hayward has put together a bounce-back season, upping his potential value this offseason. It's hard to imagine he'll be confident enough to opt out of his $32 million option for 2020-21, but this is a particularly weak class so a team could come to the table with a huge offer for multiple years.
Hmm... I'd have to do a lot of medical research on.
7) Bogdan Bogdanovic Sacramento Kings SG Status: Restricted A combo guard with a pure stroke, Bogdanovic did not sign an extension with the Kings and thus becomes a restricted free agent. Sacramento has some financial decisions to make with a lot of young players due for big contracts, so they could get priced out if other teams come calling with lucrative offers for Bogdanovic.
Though I think the Kings sign him and try to trade Buddy Hield, who I would at least consider.
8) Joe Harris Brooklyn Nets SF Status: Unrestricted Harris has developed into one of the league's top sharpshooters, a skill that always draws interest. He will command plenty of suitors in a down free agent market, so we'll see how much the Nets are willing to spend to keep Harris alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant next season.

If he's just completely done with the situation in Chicago he would fit in on plenty of teams, but won't get near the annual value of his current deal.

No offense but we’re fans of the NY Knicks. We don’t get to say “too much baggage” as fans. We seen to much and brushed in under the rug as fans to be like “too much baggage”. Right now I just want to see the knicks with 30+ games.
