The things mankind has figured out is just insane.
This is still early in the process of knowing everything about the new Variant but this is great news. It may spread faster and evade current vaxxes easier but its not more dangerous then the Delta.
I always say I don't care how bad unvaxxed people have it when they get COVID but every time I see one of these videos I still get a bit sad. This all could have been prevented. The wonderful thing about this video is that it shows 2 different patients at 2 different points in the same trajectory.
Me, wifey and my youngest got our booster shots last week. Same results, no side effects. The injection spot was a little sore the following day. My 3rd child getting it this weekend.
I got my booster last week also. The 1st 2 shots I was fine. The booster put me on my butt for a few days. I mixed vaxxes. The 1st 2 shots were Pfizer and the booster was Moderna.

I went full Pfizer. My sister and one of my daughters got Moderna and it did kick their butts.

I went with mixing shots because both vaccines are a little different so I wanted the best of both worlds. This was my logic. I had no idea if that is actually how it worked or not. If one turns out to be better for that new variant I would have some protection from it no matter which vaxx it was.

I got all three Moderna and outside of a slightly sore arm, nothing. Probably means I am finished if I catch covid.
Getting the moderna booster in a couple of weeks. That makes makes moderna 3/3 when I get vaccinated. I heard that getting a pfizer booster helps with the omicron variant so I can only believe moderna is similar if not a little better. Fingers crossed. It’s worked really awesome for me….. knocking on wood!

Have they had their booster? Are they wearing a mask?
The way I have seen COVID is this is evolving and may eventually become just like the common cold- very transmissible but not lethal unless compromised, just like the common cold.
The reason we are seeing these #s is that- I assume they still are- organized sports are testing everyone every day. Most of these players are asymptomatic, thank god. So scary but I think a lot less than where things were last year.

It could be a lot of things with the NBA, and unless there is a note about someone being positive versus "in protocol" it could just be contact tracing. I'm guessing it was the case with Obi/RJ but not 100% sure, i.e. not wearing a mask within the vicinity of someone who did test positive.

I believe with the NBA they have to have 2 negative tests. Sounds like RJ & Obi have it, though may be asymptiomatic.
If it were just being exposed, they would take two tests, get negative and be cleared.
