I try not to think about it then I see another article that forces me too.
And it causes secondary issues that are just as bad which triples the negativity
I think eventually we may have to accept a herd mentality to get out of it. I’ve read to many things about how hard a virus will be to make. The worst part is the virus really sounds scary to get for many people — it’s like Russian rouellette. Hope God can intervene a bit on this one

The very beginnings of herd immunity ran rampant in NYC... is this acceptable? Hospitals overrun, catastrophic death... that's not a solution. It's 9/11 over and over and over again. So far, TEN 9/11 death counts have happened in NYC (3K on 9/11, 20K so far in NYC from COVID-19). Doesn't herd immunity mean those 9/11-like death rates will grow for a long while?

Accidental herd immunity just ran rampant in meat factories across country and caused large death tolls and shut down of said factories.... that's not a solution, that's irresponsibility.

BRIGSS, you OK with walking you and your family into some COVID establishment and walking amongst sick workers? Cause that's what you are proposing with herd immunity.

Maybe I'm being overly reactive here, but that's what herd immunity entails right? Large amounts of people getting infected... which we have seen.

And just by low-grade observation, with herd immunity, we'd pretty much be AOK with a large percentage of nursing homes and the like just sacrificed, right?

Martin— honestly I’m leaving this one in Gods hands. I don’t feel good about it— I’m scared— I’m very very scared. I pray we get out of it in a favorable fashion. But in the next 12 months we could be in trouble with so many individuals out of work /- it’s going to cause very major secondary issues. I’m not sure what to say.

If I had my say I’d say everyone get enough stuff to stay inside for a month — do not even go outside — that’s my take. If we all just stopped — did complete quarantine to a max effect— it’s possible in could burn out. Put this will never ever happen.

Fact is that some is making this a partisan issue....here in TX I wear a mask everywhere and limit my time out..but when the GOv opened the state I see soccer moms with kids in tow at CVS with no masks and the store manager is spraying antiseptic wiping down the self check out with a partial hazmat suit on...folks talking about freedoms and liberty and not wearing masks ......even with places like Costco requiring masks ..some people are disregarding and the employees do not want to cause issues with a potential gun toting customer....

It is strange...like we are living in two separate realities...some Folks are acting like this thing went away.....others are waiting and hoping scared....it is crazy

As Briggs said...it is in Gods hands..

That’s a big problem. A big problem that many people will follow a sensible guideline and some won’t. That’s why we’re in trouble. Even if you’re a partisan— give it up for a month and play on the same team. But it won’t happen.

Then there is 100% absolute reality that tens of millions have hit material financial hardship that threatens their self being as well as their family. I’m talking food rent — it’s going to be very hot soon— people need ac— the basics in life -MILLIONS of people tens of millions. How am I supposed to say stay at home to them anymore? Should they wear a mask/ gloves. Yes! But how are we going to enforce it can’t

Go through this and see how complex this issue really is— it’s scary and I don’t see anyone with a solution

University of Utah engineer hopes to develop a portable sensor for COVID-19 testing

“This basically grew out of another effort that I had to detect the Zika virus,” he explained. “After the coronavirus basically started emerging in the beginning of this year, I talked to my program director at the National Science Foundation and he liked the idea of doing the same kind of census (tracking) for coronavirus.”

He said the idea is for the sensor to be easy to use in conjunction with devices like Bluetooth for a cellphone, earphones and other devices that can be connected to a mobile phone. He said the sensor allows individuals to self test or test for the presence of the virus in the environment

For the study, the researchers led by Dr. Igor Kovalchuck developed over 800 new cannabis sativa lines and extracts. They worked to develop strains high in anti-inflammatory cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD), as the compound has been proposed to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. They then used simulations to map out how each strain may impact COVID-19 infections in human oral, airway and intestinal tissues. In particular, they monitored each strain’s ability to modulate ACE2 levels, an enzyme previously linked to COVID-19 infection.

In the end, the researchers identified 13 CBD extracts that are able to modulate ACE2 levels. Their data also suggested that some strains were also able to down-regulate serine protease TMPRSS2, another protein critical for COVID-19 to enter host cells and spread throughout the body.

So we all know this was going on - Hey! we have lots and lots of test and everyone who wants a test gets a test! - but the reality is there are like 5 other things needed to do a test and zilch.

I am getting closer and closer to thinking that school won't happen in the Fall without a full blown relapse if schools open at all

It could've been worded differently. But in the end, who cares. There are millions without jobs. I couldn't give a fvck about millionaire athletes or egocentric electric car makers when I have friends waiting for unemployment checks and family risking their lives everyday at hospitals and nursing homes. If you don't want to play, then don't play. If you want to open up, then take precautions. Provide employees with masks and other items to protect themselves.

Wisconsin Bars Packed After State Supreme Court Lifts Stay-At-Home Orders

Wisconsin bars welcomed patrons without masks, social distancing or capacity restrictions on Thursday night immediately after the state Supreme Court overturned the governor’s latest stay-at-home order, leading to busy crowds and warnings from the governor that lack of restrictions could lead to more deaths.

Like many other governors, Evers mandated a stay-at-home order from March and planned for it to last until May 26, 2020, to curb coronavirus. Wisconsin, a state of only 5.82 million, has had a relatively small outbreak of coronavirus with just over 10,900 cases and 421 deaths, per the New York Times. Yet, this is the first instance of a state Supreme Court overturning a governor’s stay-home order, leaving the state in limbo as lawmakers scramble to put together a plan for safe reopening. For now, it’s entirely up to individual citizens to decide how to navigate the public sphere.

If it only affected them, I wouldn't care- they made their choice. Its the fact they can then go on and become super spreaders, infecting and killing lots of other people just because they couldn't be bothered to stay home for a few months.
