AstraZeneca, Under Fire for Vaccine Safety, Releases Trial Blueprints
Polls are finding Americans increasingly wary of accepting a coronavirus vaccine. And scientists inside and outside the government are worried that regulators, pressured by the president for results before Election Day on Nov. 3, might release an unproven or unsafe vaccine.“The release of these protocols seems to reflect some public pressure to do so,” said Natalie Dean, a biostatistician and expert in clinical trial design for vaccines at the University of Florida. “This is an unprecedented situation, and public confidence is such a huge part of the success of this endeavor.”
Experts have been particularly concerned about AstraZeneca’s vaccine trials, which began in April in Britain, because of the company’s refusal to provide details about serious neurological illnesses in two participants, both women, who received its experimental vaccine in Britain. Those cases spurred the company to halt its trials twice, the second time earlier this month. The studies have resumed in Britain, Brazil, India and South Africa, but are still on pause in the U.S. About 18,000 people worldwide have received AstraZeneca’s vaccine so far

The AZ data was never particularly awesome looking. I am not surprised by this.
AZ was the best hope for something soonest, I still think it is (plus will be sold at low price), we’ll find out when they release the preliminary data of the phase 3 testing in a few weeks.

I know it’s just 2 or 3 weeks later but that same customer came in today and said she is feeling much better. I know it’s just 1 person but I guess you can fully recover even if you still have symptoms months later. Hopefully Swishfm has the same fate.
I do hope so- got my fingers crossed for swishfm

Yeah, they f’ed up a bit. I remember at one point this Summer, they championed how some of their patients developed T-Cells while Moderna patients didn’t... it was later revealed that the AZ vaccine was still kind of inefficient. Modernas was always super efficient in their revealings but their issues were 1) insider trading and 2) their plans to make the vaccine kind of expensive.
Ass-clowns.
Covid-19 tests that give results in minutes to be rolled out across worldGlobal initiative will supply 120m rapid antigen tests to low- and middle-income countries
Tests for Covid-19 that show on-the-spot results in 15 to 30 minutes are about to be rolled out across the world, potentially saving many thousands of lives and slowing the pandemic in both poor and rich countries.
In a triumph for a global initiative to get vital drugs and vaccines to fight the virus, 120m rapid antigen tests from two companies will be supplied to low- and middle-income countries for $5 (£3.90) each or even less.
The tests, which look like a pregnancy test, with two blue lines displayed for positive, are read by a health worker. One test has received emergency approval from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the other is expected to get it shortly.

Hope these are accurate and easy to mass produce, could make a big difference
Gotta believe Florida will follow this trend:

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because they couldn’t get enough non-white people to participate in their phase III trial. I could be wrong about that but I know it was important and they were struggling with that.
Can't tell if this is all or just some:

Going to be a grim November and December
It is all part of the plan. Trump is going to make America Great Again by killing 10% of the population. The Purge is real.

Seriously though, I would be disappointed in my country if Trump does not lose by at least 7%-8%. I know about 40% of the country is going to vote republican no matter what, but hopefully at least 60% of the people can look at this president objectively and realize that his continued presidency is not good for the country.
He just sounds deranged on his twitter feed. Usually he’s bad, but at the moment he’s tweeting like someone just before an intervention. I have no clue what this means:
Complete and utter failure
