The hospital/morgue situation is obvious to me. For some places things are worse now than the worst time in NY. I had to deal with losing a loved one when NY was going through it. You have 14 days to get them out of one of those trucks before they are sent to a mass grave. I called EVERY funeral home and EVERY crematory for 11 days and they were ALL packed. On the 12th day when I was losing hope I finally got one to pick her up for double the price. It is now worse than it was back then so I can only imagine everyone who is not rich is going to be in big trouble if they need any kind of extra care to survive.
Young people still don't get it. You see all these people get it and get over it and think it is nothing to worry about. They have to understand it just depends on how lucky you are. No one knows how your body will react to this thing. Think of it has a dice roll where you have many winnable numbers. Depending on your situation the amount of winnable numbers lessen.
You older? less chances to win.
You are a person of color? Less chances to win.
You are over weight? Less chances to win.
Ashma? Less
Smoke Cigs or Weed? Less
etc
You can have all these things and still survive. That does not mean the virus is a hoax. It means you got a very lucky roll of the dice of life. If everyone would wear a mask and social distance we would avoid most of these situations but that is not how America works. Most people have no empathy for others until death is on their doorstep.
Trump more focused on fighting the reality he lost an election that he is on covid-19, can't believe people are facilitating this fool- his refusal to concede and help Biden transition is really going to hamper covid-19 measures

Stop posting these tweets with all of them numbers. What are, one of the warlocks and witches spouting all of them magical incantations and stuff. Three things I can tell: 1) The Earth is flat 2) The election was rigged 3) Elvis is still alive in Roswell, speedballin' with aliens in a secret laboratory buried three miles deep. Good luck trying to convince people with your "science", nerd.
I joke, but that's not too far off from some of the random things I've heard in public.
The bottom tweet is a good story on how 1 party wrecked havoc on a whole community.
Cliff Notes:
55 at party total - 27 caught Covid from 1 person.
1 Guest gave to a parent - that Parent worked at a nursing home and spread it 38 people there.
6 of those people died.
Another worked at correctional facility and spread it to 18 staff and 48 prisoners.
Full list of guests were not provided so amount who got sick from this is most likely underreported.

I’ve been there. My guess is Vienna is a shit show?
Not sure what % comes from tourism but it can’t be good.
Are people playing soccer again? In the stands? School and Daycare in tight proximity? Multi generational living under wine roof?
Light rail brings a lot of people from towns to work!
We know Asia doing much better and perhaps a better cultural acumen to stay distant?
Tourism should at this point not be a ke driver in Austria since a lot of the "classic" Tourist spreading spots (Restaurants, bars in the skiing places) are closed or semi-closed with strict restrictions.
Soccer games I think in most cities are without fans (I know in Germany they are for sure)…
School and Daycare is a thing politicians here (Germany and also Austria) are SUPER reluctant to close for economical reasons… they are bascially the last thing that will be closed. Also these places have been long said to not spread the virus much … I think this perception has to be corrected a Little soon…
Looking at the numbers the past days we the semi-Lockdown put in place two weeks ago in Germany had only a slight Impact... we are getting of the track of the exponential rise but still far away from turning the ship… today Chancelor Merkel and the state Ministers will meet up to discuss stricter "contact rules".
Guys hold in tight!!! This unfortunately is far from over BUT at least we can see some light for the time after winter with the vaccine and some high potential Treatments! We are getting there...

Meant to respond to this earlier and forgot.
Flu vaccine usually takes a few weeks to set in and it covers 3-4 variations of strains. Flu vaccine typically only 40-60% effective (compare that to the 90-95% coronavirus effectiveness we are reading about now).
Flu vaccine cannot give you the flu illness. Vaccine lasts upwards of 5-6 months.
I'm not a doctor
Hopefully you can pin your flu on some nubile coeds
If these vaccines pan out, it's an amazing scientific achievement to have created them so quickly- a fraction of the time they normally take
Looking like another vaccine! So that's hopefully 3 so far. The great thing about the Oxford one is that's it's being sold on a not for profit basis, and costs a lot less than the the Pizer and Moderna one, and doesn't have to be stored at such low temps, making it much more viable for poorer countries.

My biggest fear is that most people are going to refuse to take it. There was a point where everyone I asked said they wouldn’t take it.

It’s a delicate subject because while the situation still seems critical so taking it is almost a no-brainer, the lack of trust in the rushed process to develop and test it make any doubt reasonable.
We definitely need it and I really hope the best and safest version is the one they get out and to as many people as possible. The Oxford one seems very promising, especially for most places in the world that may not be able to store vaccines at such low temperatures as others.
I think they definitely need to start a campaign to make people feel more secure about taking the vaccine. Make very clear how they prepared it, how much has it been tested and how secure it is when it’s available to the public. I don’t think the campaign to wear masks was done effectively which made others go against it, no matter how illogical doing that was.
