Not going to stick up for Cuomo, but DeSantis is helping create the latest Covid surge with his shortsightedness, anti-capitalistic battles with the businesses, and authoritarian control over certain Floridians. If he had his way, you wouldn't have to wear a mask or have a vaccine to be on a cruise ship.

DeSantis and Abbott have become textbook cases on how NOT to govern during a pandemic.
Like FormerGuy, he is taking a non-political issue and weaponizing it for political purpose...probably to become FutureGuy, so to speak.
Not sure how any of this makes him tremendous. I'd gladly give up a little freedom for a time so I don't have to give up my life, and the same would be true if I had children going to a school which required vaccinations and masks.

Cuomo's decision to force nursing homes to take COVID patients was one of the dumbest decisions I have ever heard. We have a deadly virus where we know nothing about at the time. Lets force places who take care of the most vulnerable people in society to take them. When it becomes evident how bad that decision was he decides to just try and hide the information and hope no one notices.

. That’s fine. I appreciate that you are being objective about Cuomo so I give you credit for that. However I still stand by everything I said. Look i know this is mostly a liberal message board which is fine but me being a conservative obviously won’t be popular in here. So I’m not surprised at the reaction. I keep saying this if you are overweight you need to stop delaying and get vaxxed. This thing his overweight people harder. He took too long and only had 1 shot by the time he eventually got sick. His parents were fully vaxxed and are sick but are doing well. Every time I see an overweight anti vax person I think to myself your time is coming. He is on a ventilator and The sad part is once you are put on a ventilator the percentage of people who end up surviving are extremely low. Hopefully since he is partially vaxxed and we now have more ways to treat the virus his chances can improve.

I’m in NJ in Monmouth. Monmouth county apparently is a hot spot. Sure, I’m vaccinated and wearing a mask a lot more when out in public. But yesterday Monmouth had 143 COVID cases. That is up in the last two months, but flat for the week. I’m not going to stop living, but I will be mindful and careful. There is a lot of alarmism out there- and I am not trying to downplay it. Everyone in my family is vaccinated except my 11 year old, and I have thought- I could probably get him vaccinated since he is taller and I don’t recall any of the places actually checking my other kids ages when I brought them.
So I think if you and yours are vaccinated, it’s ok to relax a little.
Was vaccinated in April. Received both doses of Pfizer. Made sure not to expose myself. Maybe a trip every other week to grocery store while wearing a mask. Carried hand sanitizer. Tested positive on Monday. My 5 and 7 year old tested positive as well. They of course were not vaccinated. My wife, who was vaccinated, tested negative. I also have two older kids that were vaccinated and tested negative. This delta variant is so contagious. Think it will become more apparent that even vaccinated people are vulnerable to get it. Luckily, do believe that the vaccinated will have less severe symptoms.
I am feeling better the last couple of days but still have trouble doing much before getting winded. Can't imagine what I would have gone through if I was not vaccinated. Still keeping my fingers crossed that things continue to improve. Some say the 5 to 7 day is crucial. My main concern is for the kids. Today was there second day showing symptoms. Luckily mild with just a headache and mild fever. Still scary as hell. Take this shit seriously. I believe those that are saying this is as contagious as the chicken pox. It is.

I don’t think a lock down is needed except regionally by county where its hopefully can be contained. I do feel for those with children and its hard to protect them outside the house.

Most of my family live in a country that’s too poor (and is essentially locked out of) to get access to the numbers of vaccine they need, like most of the world’s countries (think the vaccination rate was at 4% last time I checked), it really makes me sick to see so many people in the US who had the chance at vaccination but were so spoiled and stupid they not only couldn’t appreciate how privileged they were, but actually went on the offensive against them- mind blowing. We truly live in messed up times.

Have multiple family members who live in Asia who spent time and $ just to fly to the states to get vaccine.

Thanks Nalod. Doing better. Tested Negative on Tuesday. Still trying to get wind back when doing too much but every day is a bit better. Kids are doing well and two tested negative. Florida is definitely getting worse. Kids in school are not wearing masks nor are people at stores. Where last year, they were mandates everywhere. The county I live in just went against the holy governor and is now doing mask mandates. However, most are just not concerned despite the numbers. It's become one of those things where only the ones that have been affected badly are believers. Most that get it and have a mild case only become more against mandates and vaccines. Without realizing that they were not in the demographic that is dying from it. For me, it is just the worst of human nature. Where if you are not gravely affected by something, then who cares. No thought to what if I infect someone else that may die from it.
