Houston has been more visible of late...I wonder what title comes with the larger role?
Allan Houston, as the Daily News reported, is another strong candidate for a larger role in Rose’s staff. Houston, who is the special assistant to the Knicks GM, has been traveling and working more with the players. Rose’s biggest hire for the front office will be the GM.
I like how the Cavs capologist knows his stuff. Getting JR and Shump for a song was more about NY being desperate enough to include Shump in the deal to get rid of the most toxic player in the league at the time.
Houston becomes GM, Im guessing Rose is calling all the shots, and Dolan has his new inside man.
Cavs current cap situation is atrocious... they have Love, Tristan and Drummond locked up. They drafted a punt guard two years in a row... what kind of capologist is this? Get outta here. Scott Perry has been putting on a cap clinic since he's been here... were good

What the name of your podcast?
He worked with David Griffin and did a lot of moving and shaking to keep them competitive when Lebron was there. I googled him and an excerpt from Windhorst's book came up.

Not interested in the guy becoming GM, Like you said, Perry has cap skills. But if its for another post, ok. If Rose thinks he really brings something to the table. Perry can manage the cap and make deals that dont hurt the team long term.

Posted a link to Windhorsts book. Cavs were going to give the Knicks a first round pick for Shump but Griffin convinced Phil to take a second round pick if he took JR.

You know you make a good point about Perry in term of the cap. Even locking up Mitch for long term.
Most of what guys are saying about team cap situation, current contracts of player, trades that teams ececuted, etc have absolutely nothing to do with what a capologist does.
Capologist are like the Larry Coons for the CBA, they know the in’s and out’s of that structure combined with knowledge of salaries and implications of all team cap situations, picks, etc. They inform the people like GMs on what is possible. They don’t actually make the decisions on what to do with info
Nerds that go to the MIT Sloan conference

I found Griffin to be a pretty impressive guy when he was on nba radio. If he is complimentary of this guys skills and says he is a part of his nerd cave, I think that is a pretty good endorsement.

I like that even in a world turned upside down, Nalod and knicks1248 are still continuing their feud, completed unaffected
