would haved loved to seen the reactions from execs when that thing was shopped around.
The show is definitely an upgrade from the source material. Although the comic book has far more WTF scenes, the shtick eventually waters down the overall content IMHO. Seth Rogen has done a good job of bringing these seemingly unadoptable titles to the small screen. The Starlight sexual assault scene, as painful as it is in the show, is way worse in the comics.
Im not current on all episodes. Was not aware there was a comic of this.

Eh, I just assume TV show or movie is based on a comic book, graphic novel or book these days. That's excluding the ones rebooted from an earlier series.
Finished season 3 of Barry. Seriously effed up show and one of the best on TV. Season 2 might've had one in of the most effed episodes on TV. Definitely recommend.
Another good boys episode. Not a lot of shock value, but "herogasm" is the next episode 😱
This has been a public service announcement for my UK brothers.
Just finished Severance on Apple+. Interesting show. Started off slow but really picked up towards the end.
Finally starting "Better call Saul". Its entertaining but, like Breaking Bad, don't see the big deal over it

Better Caul Saul got better and better- each of the last few seasons has been better than the one that came before it- went from being very mediocre to being one of my favorites at the moment. Though if you didn't like Breaking bad, you probably won't be as impressed even with the current season!
Binged watched "Squid Games" really enjoyed it. Reminds me of a Japanese film "Battle Royale". Same twisted sense of humor. But also moving.
Really liked the latest Batman reboot. Thought it was going to be emo hell, with Pattison as Batman. Apparently he tried it at first, and everyone agreed it wasnt a good idea. Influenced by previous versions, but with its own look.
Watched a few episodes of the new "Lost in Space" fun series. Started watching "Peaky Blinders" , good show as well. Kind of reminds me of "The Knick". But set in the UK.
Liked the new "Doctor Strange" film. Got mixed reviews. I hope the next actor to play the part sounds more patrician "waspy". I like Cumberbatch's version, but its more of a standard American accent.
Also really enjoying the last "Better call Saul" episodes. The next one is called "Breaking Bad". One if my favorite series.

LOL,
Tried 3 squid games. did not finish.
Fell asleep on Batman. Finished it. Seemed dark for the sake of being dark. Too forced?
Dr Strange I tried about a half hour. I really liked the first one. This one lost me quick. Went to bed early.
Not a Marvel kind of guy I suppose. Or is it DC? I liked Avengers last two movies and the Batmans. The superman vs Batman was not so great. I've aged out even caring about Starwars anymore.
Love Peeky Blinders. Going to start it soon. Have to finish "billions" first. 2 more episodes. It fell off after the pandemic break and got soap opera like. Loved Sucession. Still love "Wags" and the charactors. Recommended. If you like Peeky Blinders, try Boardwalk empire. Similar blend of Fiction with real historical charactors. They did a great job with that.
Lost in space I remmember reruns as a kid. "Dr Smith" Metro character was a hoot.

The new Batman movie, was weird to watch- still can’t decide how much I liked it- it was an odd mash up of wanting to appeal to a younger demographic, but one that was young in the 90s (i.e. me back then!) and also be a long, slow high brow take, but with all gore removed. The lack of any blood after any violent scene was just odd to watch!
After three hours, I wasn’t even sure how three hours had past- didn’t feel like Batman actually did much. But there was a lot of stuff I did like. Frustrating! It could have been much better, but I think I liked it. Cat woman’s mask was terrible though!

It was Batman starting out so that explains the rough edges like Catwoman's mask etc. I didn't need more gore because the fight scenes were brutal. I could almost feel every punch in the subway scene. The Riddler toture scenes were gory enough in my opinion.

The more I watch Breaking Bad, the more I appreciate the little details sprinkled through. Also, I appreciate Walt's character build up. There was real build up in each episode. Contrast to Ozark, which was decent, but felt shallow.
I also recommend Nope. Solid film whose biggest crime is that it isn't Get Out. Felt Thor Love and Thunder was OK, but a bit of a let down. Someone needed to tell Taika to lay off the coke during production. I'm a fan, but I felt it was too much.
Thor was good enough for me. I gave it a B. I want to see Nope but haven’t had the time. I hear mostly great things. I haven’t seen the other JP movies though. I heard Nope it mostly symbolic and I sometimes don’t always catch that stuff. Is it still worth me seeing?
Haven’t really decided if I am motivated to see the new Targarian series. I guess I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the final season of Game of Thrones. I guess maybe I miss the characters a little.

I'd say Nope has less symbolism in it than Peele's previous movies. There is some symbolism, but at it's heart, I felt Nope was more of an homage to Speilberg and some of the other directors that inspired him.
The last "Predator" film I watched through to the end was Predator II. This looks like one worth checking out. Its Predator vs. Native Americans from a few hundred years ago. Native American writers as well.

Looks interesting. I will probably check it out. I'd also suggest Predators with Adrien Brody and Alice Brody. Good, streamlined scifi/action movie.

Predator is still a great film, I still have a soft spot for the second. Can't really remember much about that 'Predators' (the one they did on another planet). But that last Predator one with the real life sexual predator actor in it was so bad! Don't know what they were thinking with the giant predator. Hopefully this new one is a step back in the right direction.
During the lockdowns etc I also re-watched all the Terminator films- 1 and 2 were still great (apart from the first one was ruined when I realized Reese spent the whole movie with that homeless man's soiled pants on, with not even a pair of underwear to act as a protective shield- ruined the film for me- what must Sarah Connor have been thinking when she was in the truck with him, boned him etc?!).
Even liked Terminator 3. Hated Terminator: Genisys- absolute trash. But I really enjoyed the newest (Terminator: Dark Fate)- thought it was really under rated

That ending was terrible- made worse by the fact me and my sister spent years joking about how much we hated Bram😂

The fight scenes were good and were brutal, but it made them a bit weird to watch without any gore!
Batman has never really been about gore. I liked that the filmakers werent afraid to take any chances. The sets, the cinematography, cgi, was better than the previous films IMO. I like Nolan's version, but it was a bit antiseptic.
John Tuturro's character call's Bruce Wayne "The Prince of the City" which might have been a shout out to the film about a cop who questions the choices he's made. Also clocking in at 3 hours. It was an ambituous film, just like The Batman.
