Batman has never really been about gore. I liked that the filmakers werent afraid to take any chances. The sets, the cinematography, cgi, was better than the previous films IMO. I like Nolan's version, but it was a bit antiseptic.
John Tuturro's character call's Bruce Wayne "The Prince of the City" which might have been a shout out to the film about a cop who questions the choices he's made. Also clocking in at 3 hours. It was an ambituous film, just like The Batman.

But also moving. Really liked the latest Batman reboot. Thought it was going to be emo hell, with Pattison as Batman. Apparently he tried it at first, and everyone agreed it wasnt a good idea. Influenced by previous versions, but with its own look.
Watched a few episodes of the new "Lost in Space" fun series. Started watching "Peaky Blinders" , good show as well. Kind of reminds me of "The Knick". But set in the UK.
Liked the new "Doctor Strange" film. Got mixed reviews. I hope the next actor to play the part sounds more patrician "waspy". I like Cumberbatch's version, but its more of a standard American accent.
Also really enjoying the last "Better call Saul" episodes. The next one is called "Breaking Bad". One if my favorite series.
The new Batman movie, was weird to watch- still can’t decide how much I liked it- it was an odd mash up of wanting to appeal to a younger demographic, but one that was young in the 90s (i.e. me back then!) and also be a long, slow high brow take, but with all gore removed. The lack of any blood after any violent scene was just odd to watch!
After three hours, I wasn’t even sure how three hours had past- didn’t feel like Batman actually did much. But there was a lot of stuff I did like. Frustrating! It could have been much better, but I think I liked it. Cat woman’s mask was terrible though!
It was Batman starting out so that explains the rough edges like Catwoman's mask etc. I didn't need more gore because the fight scenes were brutal. I could almost feel every punch in the subway scene. The Riddler toture scenes were gory enough in my opinion.
The fight scenes were good and were brutal, but it made them a bit weird to watch without any gore!

I heard Nope it mostly symbolic and I sometimes don’t always catch that stuff. Is it still worth me seeing?Haven’t really decided if I am motivated to see the new Targarian series. I guess I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the final season of Game of Thrones. I guess maybe I miss the characters a little.
That ending was terrible- made worse by the fact me and my sister spent years joking about how much we hated Bram😂
I guess we all hate Bran after what he did to Hodor. 😭

Naw, Beniof and Weiss get the full brunt of my anger. Clearly no understanding of the subject matter. GRRM too for trusting his work to those two muppets and focusing so much on this other crap that he neglects what made him famous.
Liked the Better Call Saul, " Breaking Bad" episode. Interesting about Kim Wexler.
Enjoying this season of "Westworld". Really feels like a big budget movie. Nice to see their version of a future NYC. You actually get a good look at the city. Didnt really like the first season, more fun from there.
work has been a shit show, which coincided with having to put my dog down.. this led to me collapsing and getting taken to the ER in an ambulance
things appear okay but I am trying to treat myself and mind better. I started fishing again, I forgot how much I enjoy it
anyway, I want to encourage everyone to carve time out for yourself, whatever that may be, it really does wonders for lowering stress

Sorry to hear about your dog man. I know the bond I have with my dog is strong and I can't imagine going through that situation. Keep at it. I know the hard part for me when I get down is recognizing every little thing that happens in that span isn't the end of the world. It's just another thing to move past. Keep chugging along and it eventually gets better whether it's divorce or the loss of someone close.. Can't nail down a timeframe, but I can guarantee it will eventually happen.

Sorry man, life can sit on your chest and make it hard to breath. At least there was no diagnosis other than “exhaustion”? Few weeks of xanex can help reset and take the stress out of the body.

You just described 2014-2017 for me. Brutal times. Glad to hear you’re doing better.

Very sorry for your loss. Never a good time for that to happen. Consider going out and getting yourself a puppy, or adopting a dog from a shelter. And maybe post a pic!

It's amazing how dog's work their way into your heart by just being their good natured selves, I just wish they lived longer, it's so hard seeing them decline and have to be put down- no wonder you collapsed having to deal with that on top of everything else. Sounds like you're trying to find and reconnect with your good natured self too and start treating yourself better after a period of neglect and losing yourself in day to day stresses.

good idea, I will share what comes to mind immediately here now:
the day my wife and I adopted Toto, he walked with me, he just started acting like my dog, the second I grabbed the leash. Me and no one else. It was really like that all the time. He'd lick and clean just my hand. He wanted pets just from me. Really and ego boast for the dog to only want me. He had a big scar and no hair on his back. I am surprised he wanted anything from me because clearly, he saw some shit
He was hard of sight and hearing and got out of the house because my wife left the door open. We both freaked out and were driving around the neighborhood separately looking for him. I am freaking out but am like maybe I should go home, put some dirty socks and things like that on the front porch so he can get home... I can see hm hugging the houses and trotting home.. looking happy... and I get him, call my wife, tell her she has to come home because I am going to be sick, the damn dog got into the neighbor's trash and nasty fish is all over him. I cannot deal with stuff that stinks, I will vomit, so that was fun
Lastly, Toto did not trust my toddler, and I think that was smart, but he tolerated him and was sweet with him. I think Toto knew it was important to me and demonstrated the type of patience wish I could find in myself. I was looking at photos of when my son was young, and the dog would lie down next to him, curl up, keep him warm. Toto was a good boy

I want to, but both my wife and I require hypoallergenic dogs. Toto was adopted, Bucky before was adopted... and the available dogs are generally older, lap style dogs, like Toto. So that's part of it, I thought I had a lot more time than I got with Toto. I never properly prepared myself for the end because I didn't get a 'fair' amount of time (like any amount of time would have been 'fair' but you know how this goes...)
also, thank you everyone for the well wishes and responses, I really appreciate it.. takes something out of me reading, responding, definitely want to say THANK YOU though

on the fishing front, I am trying to get good enough to enter a bass fishing tournament next year. I don't know if anyone follows that stuff, I never did, but am beginning to. Basically, you just got to get to the point to catch five bass consistently and well I want to try to get there. Even if I fail on that front, I think I still come out winning
I just bought:
- 7' medium ugly stick elite
- Shimano Sahara 2500
- 10 pound monofilament test line
- 5 pound test fluorocarbon leader
- barrel swivels for the most part
and I really prefer finesse techniques. I like fishing for crappie, for example, probably the most because of the finesse involved. I think this set up will give me what I need locally. It is very responsive, and less than $150 for something that would blow away a $150 sporting goods store fishing setup
Similarly, I purchase potomacriverangler.com and am in the process of developing it. I just think there is no local info available. The goal is to make it easier for my neighbors to fish, I really love it. Other things I got into during 'quarantine' like hot sauce making I got away from kind of quick.. fishing, I want it to cool off a little so I can get more reps in
I understand. You and your wife are still mourning. You've lost a good friend. Down the road, check out some websites. Maybe getting a dog that meets your needs is doable.
I found this website. Expensive, but Im sure there are more reasonable options out there. Give yourself time to get past this rough patch.

If you're a Neil Gaiman fan or have read Sandman, the Netflix adaptation gets a thumbs up. I thought there Sandman could be transferred to the small or big screen.
Just watched "Prey" in Hulu. It was awesome. Highly recommend
Watched Durant Produced "NYC POINT GODS" doc on Showtime. Good production and archive footage of the golden age of 80's-90's swagger era. Thought they could have done more about Tiny Archibald but he got mentioned.
Some Some of the lessor big names I wish they would have focused a bit more on as to what happend to them.
Heard Marbury this week on Ryen Rusillo's pod cast and he sounded good. They did a good job depicting him him All were treated positively. Kenny Anderson issues were never bought up. It was about hoop, not money.
Recommend. Some Free trials for Showtime abound so you can watch it and not pay. NY hoop junkies its a must.
