Knicks · High on iggy bradzekis (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 4/11/2020 10:30 AM
I really like this player
He really can be used as a2-3-4
And has all the makings of a great team player with multi skills
I hope one goal is to get him directly into the fray with a guaranteed top 9 position on the team and go from there.
Sorry if I spelled his name wrong — I have no chance to get that right
We’ve done very very well last two years drafting Robinson and iggy in rd 2
We need to keep it going. It’s proven in the recent
nba that many teams great players are actually 2nd rd picks
Allanfan20 @ 4/11/2020 11:40 AM
It seems like he played very well in the g-league. Hopefully the team is high on him.
franco12 @ 4/11/2020 11:53 AM
it's so hard to tell. On paper, looks like a nice player.

But for the little I did see him in the NBA, did not look like he could make an impact.

Hopefully he takes the opposite path from Kevin Knox who looked like he might have a future in his rookie season, and in the second year looked like he had regressed.

But hard to really be anything on Iggy.

blkexec @ 4/11/2020 1:34 PM
Yes... I was super high on Iggy since the draft. And I'm confident he could be a solid nba rotation player. At first I thought he had as much potential as Barrett and probably still does. But right now I'm confident he could be a solid nba player in the right system.
TheGame @ 4/11/2020 4:16 PM
The only thing holding back Iggy is his defense. He can shoot 3s, has a handle to get where he wants on the court, and has crafty moves around the basket. On offense, he is easily a 15-18 pt scorer in the nba if he were given 38 minutes. But he has to show he can defend either 3s or 4s. I really hope they use next year to further develop the young guys. Play Knox more as a 4 and give Iggy 15-20 mins at the 3. I actually think we have a better team than we realize if the young guys can improve their games and we can add a better pg.
Knixkik @ 4/12/2020 8:36 AM
I like him a lot. He’s really young and very skilled. Could be the next joe ingles if he improves his shooting year over year. He’s got 6th man/high level rotation player potential.

I agree. I hope the next coach is either Miller or Atkinson and that the directive given is to developers the young players.

He is the typical AAAA Player

Is Iggy a good passer? Thats Joe Ingles strong suit, he is point forward.
They are both white. That the comp?
Iggy has the offensive chops but is not NBA ready. He is a good prospect and young.
But I’m not “high” him. Not hating either.

They are both white? I didn't notice lol. I believe Brazdeikis has that point forward ability and his lefty style which he relies on craft over quickness gives him the same aesthetic look as Ingles. Same size, body type, lefty dominant.

Bradekis is a “ now” type player — he plays the game the way it’s played in the nba. He’s big—6-8 and he can move from positions 2-3-4. In the g league he was actually very good at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket He’s an excwllent aggressive rebounder smart willing passer and while he didn’t shoot great from 3 has excellent form that will lead to better % going forward. He’s better than Knox right now— he’s smarter better tougher
Knox needed a full year in the g league like Ignas had. We pushed Knox the wrong way. But we’re talking iffy here abd I want him to be a rotation player next year—perhaps 8-9 in rotation

I agree with you BRIGGS. I think Iggy is better than Knox is now. Knox has more athleticism but Iggy has a more developed game. That is why I hope they give them both big minutes next year. We need to figure out if we have a SF of the future on this team or if we need to move on. While many will disagree, I think we should worry less about bringing in upgrades next year and focus on developing these young guys. They all have had 1-3 years under their belt. They should be ready to compete at a competent level.

It thought they did a Great job superimposing Iggy Pop that that spider web pipe!
NotInMyHouse @ 4/14/2020 9:51 AM
Iggy is my favorite young player on the team (well, him an RJ are a bit of a tie.)
If RJ could just have his shot. If Iggy could defend better and have just a little more athleticism (though he
seems to have little problem getting off his shot and making it from anywhere.)
I look forward to seeing the young guys after the "Break", or perhaps next season.

how can any of you say this stuff - he's played exactly 53 minutes in the nba. Lavor Postell played 3x as many minutes at about the same age, and he ended up out of the league, but did more!

Different players. Iggy is going to be a player in the nba- a good rotational player

We say this stuff about players all the time. Projecting a player is not far fetched. We are talking about a game after all.

To your question - It's for a few reasons. At a basic level, coming into the NBA (as a Freshman in college), he was thought to be around a late first round pick. So, scouts saw his potential.
Second, he has an excellent all around game. (Again, his defense needs to improve, but he is at least not lazy there, he defends hard.) He can hit his shot from all over the floor, plays intelligently, rebounds and see's the floor well. Don't forget he played a significant role on Michigan as a Freshman. We are not really here "hoping" for the kid, it is no real shock he can play. Can he take it to the next level in the NBA? Yeah, I think he can.

Next season he is really going to have a role here imo.

KnickDanger @ 4/15/2020 1:34 PM
Of course what few here (or anywhere) will say is that they don't really know. Some are more informed in their opinions than others but a cursory view of the history of NBA lottery picks will indicate there is always a crapshoot aspect with prospects. Even more so with 2nd rounders. I certainly am hopeful for Iggy and hope he gets his shot. And oh yeah defense is real important in my eyes.
