Go easy man, I think he's a new poster! (we need new posters on these boards) Plus I think maybe he saw the other thread as being more about This, where as this one's more about Atkinson
I like Atkinson's track record developing young players, the bit I'm wary about is he may have benefited a bit from the media's deferential coverage of the Nets (whereby nearly everything they do is magnificent), so got a lot of uncritical coverage. A few people have said he's great at development but a bit more iffy when it comes to x's and o's. I guess it all comes down to- if we're determined to spend the next few years developing you g players and building via the draft go for Kenny (especially if we draft a PG), if we're going for a disaster trade for established players, go for Thibs.

I think sticking with Miller for another year might be the best outcome.

I'm partial to getting Kenny bec of his developmental expertise. But Miller might be better for stability. And the players played hard for him, something you can't take for granted. He was a rookie coach to the NBA game so I do think he can grow too as a coach.

I think we have a "learn now" scenario on our hands. Unless we are prepared to give Miller a 3-4 year contract, it makes no sense having him in as the head coach for 1 year, while moving around behind his back for our eventual head coach. Bring that man in NOW, and let the lessons begin. Move Miller to the ass't HC spot where he can continue to help developing the youths. He can also strengthen Atkinson's x and o deficiencies.
