Knicks · VOTE............. (page 1)

As one poster said 4 years ago......”What do you have to lose?”
We are being pulled apart by those who want to weaken us. Why? We lose our resolve to maintain economic sanctions.
Money.
America intends well. We fight amongst and always have. We are a melting pot. Its natural. But the constitution and its ideals are worth it. Move past hypocrisy and forward. Easy to type, hard to digest the injustice.
Start by Voting. If someone does not want you to vote then they are scared of your powers.
Exercise before you lose it.

This is likely a preview of November, if Biden wins, and the election is contested in any way. Id plan with that possibility in mind.

Once every 100 year pandemic? Unemployment highest since Great Depression? Most social unrest since Vietnam? 9/11 death levels every other day?

What am I missing?

Wild times we living in. WILD

Dont see protests sustained at this level. Not with the wisespread destruction of property we're seeing now, and mass disruptions. I can imagine things getting even worse if there isnt a peaceful transition of power. You look at the crowds protesting, and its almost entirely young people. Biden wins and Trump wont leave, older people will likely take to the streets as well.

Hear they pre-positioned a 6 month supply of Big Macs

The answer has been the same for decades. Accountability. Floyd was held more accountable than he should have with his life. Yet it takes massive protest and riots for these cops to be held accountable. Which is only likely due to it getting filmed for the world to see. With the cop that was kneeling on Floyd's neck having 12 prior complaints and multiple other killings of unarmed civilians on his resume. The police force is just as guilty for Floyd's death for allowing a cop with his history to maintain his position. The people who made excuses over the years for cops while they continued to not be held accountable for their actions have helped create this situation. When Kapernick knelt, people who cared more about him kneeling during the anthem than the reason why he was kneeling. You have helped create this situation as well. When Eric Garner was choked out with disregard for his life after calling out that he couldn't breathe. The fact that apparently nothing was learned from that situation to prevent this one. It should never have come to this level brutality for eyes to open.

While the above paragraph may come off as finger pointing for those that the shoe fits. That isn't really my goal. But the point i'm trying to get to is before smart phones African Americans have been complaining about police brutality. All the way back to the Black Panthers. Floyd and multiple others lives and families could have been saved and we wouldn't be where we are at this point. If our claims weren't denied the way they have been all these decades.

Change that, maybe we can save future lives.

What I've never understood all these decades- I love my colleagues, they're also my friends. If one day at work I saw one of them choke a person to death with their knee, there's no way in hell I'm just going to stand there. There's no way in hell afterwards I'd cover up for them or want anything to do with that absolute psychopath. Yet so many of these murdering, abusing, psychopaths masquerading as cops are happily supported and protected by their fellow cops. I just find it bizarre that thats their response as a human being. It's that supportive environment that's absolutely toxic and helps empower these murderers, and emboldens them to not only do their stuff, but do their stuff out in the open, even while being filmed.
smackeddog @ 6/1/2020 6:01 AM
This is good to see- we need more cops like this to stand up against the corrupt, abusive and murderers in their midst and the enablers who support and cover up for them:

smackeddog @ 6/1/2020 6:09 AM
Worrying how shamelessly some of these cops are happily smashing skulls and arresting and attacking journalist's while knowing they are being filmed. if they're happy to do this out in the open, makes me worry about what they've been doing out of sight. Unhinged behaviour, guess Trump being president has emboldened them as they know they will be praised not held to account.

I'd like to have a faith that America, with it's unique position as an immigrant nation, has a unique role to play in the future of the world. That democracy and freedom is the future of human kind, world wide.

The pandemic, the outrage at the continuing impact of 400 years of slavery, Trump and his stupidity and ugliness- are the conditions which need to happen to wake people the F up, and realize that certain things are wrong and need to change.

I'm constantly amazed that something like 30%-40% of voters can actually support Trump. I don't understand how facts can't get through, how people can be so thick as to not see things that are, to me, fairly obvious.

Seeing the flames, the explosions, chants, outside the White House, which he couldnt ignore. Might have Trump shook enough to think twice about refusing to concede a loss.

If we see heavy duty military equipment brought in to cordon the White House just before the election. That might be a tell that Trump isnt planning to go anywhere.

Guess we'll see what happens.

Great to see- we need more cops like this willing to stand up to the toxic culture in their ranks:

He is president until the inauguration should he lose. My hope is he is removed via article 25 should he decide to NOT transition as others before him. He can choose to not leave the White House, but that won’t make him president. He can live there. He will no longer be the chief in command.
