Trump is supposed to address the country tonight. Probably will be a tell as to what he's planning to do.

Not feeling overly patriotic now, I can tell you that.

It's like George W Bush's re-election when everyone thought the surge in turnout before ballots closed was people turning out to get rid of him after the Iraq war etc, but it turned out- nope! they were turning out to vote him back in
Crazy that states with the highest death tolls voted for him, we really are living in the age of stupid.

As feared/expected. US better not dare complain about other countries democratic process again.

The polls were way off again. Whichever pollster finds the right metrics, will be the next Nate Silver, and wealthy.
Whatever the outcome. Believe we're learning that for many voters. Attitude trumps competence. And what an attitude.

Said this last year. Polls mean very little as there are so many embarrassed to admit in public they support Trump. Also, the polls do not take into account the many that decide, in the end, to not vote since they do not like either candidate. This was all about each party energizing its base. Rep's have done a better job in the last 2 elections. Really thought there would be a rush of people tired of the shit show that is Trump. smh

The polls used to follow the results much more closely. Something changed. The pollsters tried to be more thorough this time, and they were still way off. They might not be casting wide enough of a net to get accurate results.
Id like to see follow up polls, to see how many followed through on their preference. How the undecided broke. The answers are out there.

Have to say that Im surprised that Fox news is giving Biden a larger lead than CNN, MSNBC. Yahoo has the same lead as Fox. 238 to 213, vs 224 to 213.

Even if he wins, I'd consider it a loss. History will look at the last four years as the worst presidency in this countries existence and Biden is still in a fight for his life. The people speak and the Democratic Party still refuses to listen. If we the Republican party had a candidate with a minimum of 40% of their sanity remaining, Biden would've lost in a landslide.

Its more than that, the two sides cant even agree on facts anymore.
You can put a lot of it on the ghost of Ronald Reagan who made generations of Dems run from their role in creating anti-poverty programs like SS, Medicare, etc. Reagan convinced millions that the govt didnt have a role in quality of life issues.
"Free Market" ideas took center stage. Like massive deregulation. Carter got the ball rolling when he deregulated the airline industry. Succeding generations of Dems gave up on their traditional role of fighting for the working man and woman. Tried to act like fake Republicans, instead of a check on Corporate interests. As someone said,.in effect, that if its a choice between a fake republican, and the real thing, they will vote for the real thing. Thats why Obama ran more to the left of where he really was in 08'.
As Bernie Sanders accurately put it. The Clintons effectively turned over the keys to the economy to Wall Street in the 90s. Thats where the long term damage to the middle class was really done.
As bad as the Dems have been over the last 40 years, this election was about more than their failures, but what kind of country we want to be, and who should be its face. Millions upon Millions wanted to keep the status quo.
That was actually William F Buckley's definition of modern conservatism. Preserving the status quo. Millions looked around and decided that the way things are being done at the top was worth preserving. Not an easy argument to counter when people cant agree on facts.

I mean Google says the AP has Biden at 238, which means all he needs is Nevada, Michigan and Wisconsin, which he leads all 3. If he really did take Arizona then that’s huge. Those 6 measly Nevada points are now huge. A game winning 3 pointer.
Allanfan20@ 11/4/2020 11:09 AM
I went to sleep thinking Biden stood no chance. Now it looks like he can win although Trump can still take every one of these states.

It’s all but over for Trump. PA will likely be added to MI WI NV and GA has a solid chance too
Senate looks like only 48 for Biden

Yeah, the Senate is quietly a killer.

Republicans have been better at marketing the fear of socialism. People don’t understand the difference between capitalism with strong safety nets and socialism. So older ppl who migrated from other countries once they hear socialism talk they get scared. Then of course there are the ppl who will only vote for the tax breaks.

Did some math.
In GA. Trump up 84,342. There are still 249,908 ballots to be counted.
In NC. Trump up 76,712. There are still 348,124 ballots to be counted.
EDIT: I used AP numbers

Well it's been a tense 24 hours or so...I am guessing most of us voted similarly for the prez. At 5pm Wednesday there is no winner declared but for those hoping for a Biden win there is more hope than last night and this morning. My calculations could be off, but it seems to me a win in Michigan and Nevada would do it. And CBS News just declared Michigan for Biden. (edit -- also Arizona is in the mix though some have projected it for Biden.)
However we learned a while back not to rule out the cunning Red Fox.....
