I flip back and forth between Hayes and haliburton as second choice, but I agree, Ball is number 1 for me too

Yeah, Ive flip back and forth on Hayes and Hal too. This draft is weak. The jumpshot is the thing that sours me on Hal. I think it's going to take him some time to adjust his release, just like it did with Lonzo. I also think he'll have to start out as a secondary ball handler. I'd prefer Deni if we're going to draft off upside. But I wouldn't be mad if we dropped and picked Cole. I really think the drop-off is that small.

zero explosion, cant create his own shot off the dribble. I could't pick him in the top 5 upside isnt there. Not a bad fit with barett though

I'm having thoughts of the 2009 NBA draft when the first two point guards picked were Ricky Rubio and Johnny Flynn, and then one Stephen Curry. Other interesting choices at this position throughout that draft -- Brandon Jennings at 10, Jrue Holiday, Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague at 17,18,19 but Eric Maynor at 20, we took Toney Douglas at 29 but Patrick Beverly at 42...and so on....

So who are the experts, who is stupid, and who is lucky? And how will that play out with all the PGs we're discussing?

I'd go Haliburton, Hayes, and then Ball. Ball just has too many red flags for me, starting with his level of competition and progressing to his spotty defense against that same competition. Add in a low shooting percentage and shooting mechanics that would require a complete overhaul at the NBA level and in two years we'd be hearing "how could you take a guy that high with so many obvious issues?" I prefer to not be answering those questions--again.

My top 4 picks i would be happy with edwards,hailburton,neismith or wiseman. I won't be happy if we pick ball he has to much baggage needs to go to small market team like suns or piston. I won;t be happy if pick hayes he is just better frank 2.0 and its going to take a while for him to devlope. I won't be happy if we draft cole anthony he is to injury prone and doesn't have jump shot.

Ball's level of competition is probably the highest of the three. The NBL has a number of fringe NBA player. I posted a game in the draft thread where Ball played Scott Machado, who is one of the all-time NCAA assist leaders and played in the NBA last year. And, to be fair, all of the top PG prospects this year have major red flags.

I looked at film again and still have it Ball with Hayes/Haliburton tied for second. I would probably give the edge to Hayes as the second pg because he looks like he has a better penetration game than Haliburton. Issues with Ball’s percentages are overblown. Like most young kids he had bad shot selection. Once he cleans that up, I think he will be a solid shooter and he is by far the best shot creator of the three.
